Seriously, you need to be looking for the other one. Copperheads almost always travel in pairs.

Edit: some people say this is BS but every time I have found one another is nearby.

Good thing it was a snake and not a dog that was about to be euthanized anyway, or everyone would be going bananas about animal cruelty.

I didn't relish killing him, I just had no other alternative. I love animals, but when one is capable of killing me, my wife, or my neighbors with a single bite, hr's gotta go.

The only good snake is a dead one.

Are you sure he's really dead?

How do you know he was alone?

don't freaking tell me that man, I'm sitting here, literally shaking just thinking that a snake was right here. I am freaking terrified of the things, I guess that I jst did what I had to do and didn't think about it. I think I found where he came in at, and I seal it up with about t10 layers of tape till I can do a more permanent job tommorrow.

Jeez, this sucks.

there would be no way i could sleep in the house, just laying in bed i would just feel it slithering over my naked feet ir up my leg...

Jeez, this sucks.

It has always been my experience. Some people say it is BS and that the only reason you might find them in pairs is because the habitat will support two snakes and not because they travel together. Also during mating season males will follow females around.

No digicam here. I'm planning on getting the one from my office tommorrow so I can take some to be sure of what type of snake it was. 99.9% it was a copperhead though.

I bet it was a milk snake.
