That's actually not bad. Even as a techy I would probably pay 25 bucks for a basic cell phone repair just so I don't have to do it. I'm sure lot of people would not even be willing to try it so I can see that working nicely.
I don't currently do any kind of side job but I work shifts meaning I have lot of spare time, so I've been pondering on starting some kind of project. One project I have in mind is a server management system, basically a web based system to do everything you can think of. It would be geared mostly towards web hosting but could do lot of other stuff as well. Once that system is done I'd either sell it or release it under GPL and make money off support or just ads on the site etc. I'd also consider starting a small web host, though it's kinda conflict of interest with where I work. Though a few people do it, even managers, so don't think it's really enforced if I'm not directly stealing customers. This would be something online and not local so I'd probably be fine.
I've also been wanting to make a video game, but I'm not really that good at graphics, so I think it's more of a dream than a reality. Though after playing lot of minecraft lately, I've been thinking a Minecraft like game but with a MMO aspect could be interesting as well and the graphics are rather simple.
The hardest part about doing business now days is trying to stay off the lawsuit radar. Other companies, and people, find every little thing to sue. Sucks trying to make a living and end up owing someone millions of dollars because they decide they want that money from you. People can sue for anything these days.
