Congrats on the guitar and the deal you got. Sorry to hear about your brother.
Another cool Sweetwater story:
Last time I went to the doctor I had a Sweetwater shirt on. My doctor told me a story about what happened to one of the other doctor's son. The son was about to take a sabbatical and do some touring, playing gigs in various spots around the country. The trailer he was going to use was either stolen or damaged. Somehow the owner of Sweetwater heard about what happened, bought a trailer, flew him down to Indiana with a helicopter, and told him to just give the trailer back when he was done.
Chuck Surack (owner/founder) has a love for flying and the helicopter stories aren't new. Heck he has flown contractors (think building trades) to do work at his house as he has a helipad on his property. He also basically bailed out our small "local" private type airport and of course earned him the naming rights.
Also opened up his own dealership for high end cars (he would usually drive a Bentley GT to our board meetings) but for the most part the collection really isn't impressive even in this midwest town from my own inspection.
The HQ feels like walking into a shopping mall and there is his VW Minibus that he started his business out of for display. Small cafeteria with different stations and game room for employees that looks like an afterthought. Also a small auditorium.
He's done a lot of good for the city, but at the same time some of his actions have been questionable considering how close he is to the mayor. Granted, he is a net positive but combined with our governance I've basically labelled our city "Chicago-Lite" with some of the stuff they are trying to pull.
Any ways, that is one nice guitar.
