cc = cold cathode
the plastic tubing protects that thin stick inside the tube. The light comes from that and it is very fragile

I have 1 cold cathode from frozencpu and it lits up my case nicely. I used to have dual cold cathodes from pcytoys and they lit up my case very nicely but they burned out after acouple days. Frozencpu has very nice neon lights and I have one for 3 months now, still working perfectly.

Get CCs instead of neons, they last longer while producing less heat. I use two in my case for a nice dual color effect, but one can do fine. Why don't you get it from SVC, it's only around 20 for a pair and the inverter

Im probably going to get two CC from SVC< one UV and one other color,since they sell the tubes seperately for a few dollars you can get replacements just to mix up the colors a bit if you want

I just tried ordering the UV from SVC, but apparently they are OOS on them. Eh, they should update their site to reflect it's status.

IMHO, these lights suck! Get the ones from SVC.

Go with the SVC cold cathodes. I have two of them in my case (different colors) and they light it up very nicely. I like the two color effect, but it's not necessary

SVC 12" will light up your whole room if you place it right. i've got mine at the back of the case (held in by the latch thing on the chieftec window) and it puts some serious light on the wall across the room from my desk.

I can attest to them being fragile. The inside light of my CCFL came halfway out of the protective acrylic tube when I took off my side panel, which is wear the CCFL is attached, and then the acrylic tube bent one way, breaking the CCFL in half.

I would get the CCFL's from SVC. The inverter will allow two CCFL's and if you break one of the CCFL's like me, you still have the inverters and the CCFL only costs 5 bucks without the inverter. If you open up the black casing of the power inverter you just unplug or plug in additional CCFL's, up to two.

This doesn't do the lights any justice. I used my webcam to get some quick pics. I got these from SVC total was $30 (Kit w/ 1tube $15, 1 extra tube $5 & the sunbeam sound control $10). It can light up a small room. Using it in an SX1030B case...OH YEAH!
