You saw it too? It's FAN-T-STATIC!!!!!!!!!!!

I simply LOVE that fight scene between Uma Thurman and that other chick. Simply amazing. The way the swords hitting each other sound is so cool. if you notice carefully though, you can see the camera in one of the sword's reflection.

Also, that last scene was tight! But not as good as the one I was talking about earlier. But man, so much blood. She is so good with the sword.

If you thought the original was good, how does it compare to that? That's all I'd need to know about it

It's very different IMO. More story and less gore, but still very awesome.

Lots of little surprises, and the way the scenes are ordered makes the story flow well.

Oh really?

Why don't you tell us about that restaurant scene?

Let's see if it's YOU who hasn't seen it.

I'm not going to spoil it for everyone else. If you really want i'll tell you some details to prove I have seen it in a PM, but if you haven't seen it yourself you wouldn't know until Friday if I was telling you the truth.

Just saw it this evening myself

Absolute coolest thing! My room mate and I are buying advance tickets for a sunday show (first day we're both free for) at one of the automated ticket sellers, and this guy comes up and asks if we want a pair of tickets for the advanced promo that night We're like "Oh, hell yah!" and grab and go.

I have to say, VERY cool movie. Totally different than the first one. This one is all story driven with only a small amount of fighting -- thought what there is kicks ass. The Bride and Elle Driver's fight in Budd's trailer is excellent! Those two just beat the living sh!t out of each other, wow! Great ending to that one.

We get to see some of the Bride's background (I can't believe her real name, oy ) and her training with the freaky martial artist with the long white beard, as was seen in the original trailer. The final act is all her with Bill, and Carradine does a magnificent job with the role. The final fight between the two of them is very slick, very well done, I just wish it could have been longer than it was.

I certainly hope that rumours of #3 are true

For those that disliked Vol 1, it's hard to say what you'd think of this one. It's more serious (no mass amounts of spurting blood) and WAY more story driven. Heck, it's also far and away Tarantino's tamest and most intellectual movie, lacking a lot of the wit and cynicism found throughout a lot of his other stuff. It tells a hell of a story, no question about that. Just not sure it'd be to the taste of everyone.

In the end, while I didn't like it as much as Vol 1, it is something that has to be seen if you liked the first in any way. It's not like Revolutions was to Reloaded, not a continuation of the same movie, but rather a whole different movie telling the rest of the story.

Good stuff

I went to BestBuy today to get in on the "Kill Bill Vol 1 and Resevoir Dogs for $20" deal. They were all sold out of Dogs.

So I paid $16 for K.B. and got a raincheck to get R.Dogs for $4. What a waste of a trip. Oh well. I added two more to my DVD collection.

so I take it she doesn't kill bill.
Now I never said that

Rumours that I've heard set #3 15 years later, when Vernita Green's daughter decides to extract some revenge for the opening chapter of Kill Bill Vol. 1.

I got to see it two weeks ago. Much better then the first. Awesome fights. ANd much funnier. Only thing I liked better in the first was the anime sequence.

say i hated the first one, not because of the spurting blood, but because anime blows and the excessively slow stare-at-each-person's-face-for-45-minutes camera shots were beyond boring. plus i want to claw my eyes out when "kung-fu" movies have people that can fly somehow and they make it look incredibly stupid. so would i like it or no?

Definitely not. No anime, but not a blistering pace, either. And there were scenes of dialogue that dragged. Only minimal on the flying bit. Unless you want to see for yourself how the story ends, as opposed to just hearing/reading about it, there's no reason for someone like you to go.

thanks! can u explain that flying thing though? like in crouching tiger. such awesome fight scenes ruined by stupid and blatantly fake-looking acrobatics. whats the fascination with these crappy flying effects. breaking the laws of physics to pull off some cool move is one thing, but i guess when u make it look retarded, you suddenly get the unwavering devotion of millions of anime fans. shoot me.

I just got back from the screening and it wasn't that good. It tell the story by going back to another story and its just too long.

I was hoping to see this film today in my film class (we usually get to see screeners a bit earlier than the release in theaters)... no luck--saw this movie with Mandy Moore by the name of SAVED! instead O_O

My professor, Lenard Maltin (Film Critic), says that Vol 2. is "not more of the same thing" and he loves it...

That's all, hehe, again I really wished I can say that I saw it too
