I was sitting on the toilet with the vent fan running just above me. I was thinking why did they put the fan in the bathroom, just put it in the toilet. For the most part your ass creates a seal around the toilet seat.

Utilize the drain holes in the toilet bowl to suck the air from the bowl (creating neg pressure) and blow it in either the sewer or to a air duct.

I was googling to see if this is available. Apparently several companies make a similar toilet add on. One company even blows it into the toilet tank water!!!

If you think that's great, you should look up macerating toilets.

lol the vent isn't just for odors, its mainly an exhaust for moisture and mold prevention.

To "macerate" is to soften, to break in pieces. Our macerating system uses a rotating cutting blade to liquefy human waste and toilet paper. When mixed with flushing water the waste is pumped into a sanitary sewer as a fine slurry.

Now to combine a gold extractor with that...

Fans are meant to expel the moisture from showers/bathing. They are not for wasping away poop smell.

Hey OP, in case you didn't know already, the fan is primarily for moisture, not for smell. I just wanted to dazzle you with my knowledge.

I was hoping this would just slide of the front page and didn't even comment on it.

Unfortunately, I guess people are.

Piping air into your drain will dry your traps, bad idea. Piping bacteria laced air into your toilet tank is a bad idea, unless you want to ferment some poop stew, or poo soup, etc.
Oh, and also, the fan is for moisture control. Surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet? ()

Sorry, OP, your idea is a little old. Looks like the basic elements were patented in 1903.

FWIW - as a patent attorney I see stuff like this ALL the time.

Edit - apparently toilet mounted fans were popular in the early part of the 19th century:

Sounds like an interesting idea but the fan is also for the moisture from the shower so you'd still need a bathroom one.

What I like is inline fans, they move more air than the typical noise maker fans that are meant for bathrooms and can be mounted remotely. When I turn on my fan all I hear is the sound of air flow.

You know, it's not for the smell. The fan is primarily for removing moisture.

Well, that's interesting. It's like a garbage disposal for your toilet. The Liberty one that comes up as the first Google search uses common razor blades to cut up poop.

I think the toilet should just shove an air-tight tube up your ass and suck the poop out.
