I just watched the movie Signs....what a retarded ending

i was skeptical as it was watching the movie after seeing the previews all summer long in the theater, thinking it was going to be a retarded movie. I eventually got into the movie and jumped a couple times (when it was quiet and the dog barked loudly), but after seeing the ending, i can't believe i wasted an hour and a half watching that. Big waste of time IMO.

Sounds to me like M. Night Shyamalan holds the title for "most overrated director", given that he appears to have shot his wad with Sixth Sense.. I haven't seen Signs, and don't intend to.

I really liked it, it didn't sell out to be a another big mindless alien action movie, instead it carried a strong story and message.

I think the ending was kinda cool, how everything lined up.

That's why the boy had asthma, the little girl had the water quirk, and the brother used to swing like a mother fvcker at everything.

It's easy to be disappointed in Signs if you believe the focus of the movie is about aliens and not a man's crisis of religious faith.

It's more "in depth" than most movies and that's why some people don't like it. Some people just like watching mindless action/swearing and just don't have the brain capacity to understand a movie that has a well written script. All the lose ends were tied up, and it carried a strong message at the end that tied up the whole movie (Everything happens for a reason).

Yea I almost wet my pants on that one also. I thought it was a well done movie that did a great job building suspense but not intended for the "the fast and the furious" crowd.

yea, that part made my spine chill the most. I thought it was very clever the way they built the suspense, and how everything came together at the end.

i guess most people just wanted the aliens to kill off each person one by one, and then the last man standing manages to find a secret weapon that kills all the aliens, then he gets the girl. Original

Personally I liked it because it was a creative way of demonstrating the power of faith.

It's hard to explain to people how it's not an "alien movie" because it does, in fact, have aliens in it. That's not the point of the film, though!

It WASN'T about aliens - it could have been about ANY crisis - the aliens were more of a distraction. It was a non-action, family/RELATIONSHIP-type film dealing with "loss-of-faith" and coincidence vs. fate.

And excellent acting all-round.
