I was usually the one who'd be bringing snakes back to the house ever since I could pick one up with certainty that I wouldn't be bitten. My mom just didn't like that I was going near snakes (possibility of venomous ones, that sort of thing), and my dad plain hated snakes.Originally posted by: destrekor
Aw that sucks. I mean, if you have children or pets, its natural to want to kill any snake that ventures into your property. I wouldn't say it bad that it happened to be a kingsnake, but if you don't have any pets, yeah, go ahead and let the next one you see live. They take care of the vermin in the area, and aren't venomous, but sounds like you already knew all that.
So, don't beat yourself up over it.

I found a kingsnake when I woke up this morning. Luckily I was able to beat it till it went limp in my bathroom.

The small ones are easy to beat.
