Cats are fun except for the whole pooping thing. Never fails, I clean out the litter box and make it nice and fresh and one of the little jerks crawls into it and poops all over it.

Don't generalize too much. I've rescued a few cats whose situation was dire, and the appreciation they showed me on a daily basis and the bond that grew between us was nothing short of breathtaking.

I saw one of those once painted up to be a deathstar.

I've never had that model, but have had other automated litter boxes. Probably good if you have 1 cat. My 3 destroyed a LitterMaid in less than a year.

I'm a cat person, I'd say go for it OP. The only part that sucks is the litter box and puke both of which come with any choice in animal. Otherwise they are great. Go rescue one.
