Just saw that there is a Borderlands Remastered coming to PS4/XB1

however, it only includes Borderlands 2 and the Pre-sequel

My favorite Borderlands was teh first one, shame they arent remastering that as well

Borderlands 2 is becoming this generation's Doom. Seems to be coming out for every platform under the sun. The Vita remaster was p--- poor though.

I have bought remasters/reissues of games. On my iPad I bought the infocom treasury of games. I just like the puzzles and memories of the games. Of today's games I bought TLoU for the PS4 since I did not play it on the PS3. I noticed that there is going to be reissue of FF VII on the PS4. I have mixed feelings about that game. 1) they are not upgrading the graphics. 2) I have beat and grinded the game into the ground. I most likely will not buy this game. My PS3/2/1 all can play the original.

I like it if it's a good game to start with. There are a lot of the early 3D games that had awesome mechanics/gameplay/story/whatever but just look like crap by today's standards. Basically anything in the PS1/N64/Saturn/Xbox/GameCube/PS2 generations. Stuff that's 3D but firmly SD with low polygon counts and horrible textures. Stuff from 360/PS3 era.... nah, too soon, although I can see it for stuff like Last of Us and the later games in the Halo collection. Multiplayer games have their own reason for being upgraded to the latest connectivity platform. (Halo matchmaking problems notwithstanding)

I would really like to see simple up-rezzes of a lot of Xbox/PS2 generation games. Stuff like Project Gotham Racing (first one, where you had to combo your Kudos and a single error would lose your whole combo) and Splinter Cell (first two or three, when it was really just about stealth and darkness). Or stuff like Rez. I honestly don't see why they don't just re-release a downloadable version of Rez for $5-$10 on every console that ever comes out.

I don't get many of them, honestly, but I'm playing through the Final Fantasy X HD Remaster with the wife now and it is fantastic; same great game, but it doesn't look like hot garbage blown up on a 65" screen. As long as they're done properly, by truly taking the time to improve the original assets and make them work with modern widescreen displays that may not have been supported originally, I think it's a great thing. It helps that I got FFXHD for $14, so I didn't feel like I was getting ripped off on a double-dip. With it coming out again on PS4 for $50... yeah, that's pushing it. But revisiting old classics without having to dig up old consoles from the closet? Count me in.

Almost done myself with FFX-2 (wrapped-up FFX a few months back) on the PS3 remix and it has been great!

I think re-mixes are popular because a lot of the earlier-gen 3D games (circa 1996-2003) were pretty crude and did not age very well. There is a certain charm to 8 & 16-bit titles but early 3D can look pretty bad, especially blown-up on modern larger-screen TVs.

It is nice when they don't mess with the gameplay and just up the graphics. The way they did FFX/FFX-2 was perfect. The game stays intact (better in some ways because of International/bonus content) but the game looks great.

As a gamer of a lot of years, there is (sadly) often more compelling remix titles that you haven't played in 10-15 years vs. the newer titles. This is especially true of RPGs.

On a semi-related point, I think its great to expose younger folks to some amazing titles that came out in the last 10-20 years they might not otherwise play. That's always great IMHO and hopefully drives excitement to make more quality ones in the future.

GTA5, SR3, and soon to be Darksiders 2. They looked like crap. Darksiders looked so bad I stopped playing it. I saw the core game and its mechanics and liked it. But that graphics were awful. I want those mechanics but prettier.

Well, they're doing that pseudo-community-based, free-to-play Unreal Tournament with UE4 now, and you can get into the alpha with ease, if I remember correctly.

Actually I meant the original Unreal...not UT. The first Unreal and the expansion Return to Na'Pali. Unreal 2 was ok, it had some cool weapons, reminds me a bit of Halo.
I think a modern remake would be great. It had lots of levels. It was amazing to me to look up in the sky and see 2 suns or a couple of planets.

Yes, Unreal was amazing. One of the most underrated FPS games of all time.

It blew the sh*t out of Quake 2 and most other contemporary shooters of the time not named Half Life.

...and last but not least, some of the absolute BEST music and sound in any game, EVER. Seriously, the Unreal OST is a must listen.

It's sad it only got one, true, mediocre sequel. But I simply don't trust that a major studio would do it justice, or even come close really, today.

I like remasters in general, ICO+SoTC was a great remaster that really brought out the great art design that only looked so so on ps2. I also like that a few of the more recent ps3 games have been remade on ps4, I missed quite a few of them and now I can just get them with better graphics and play it on my ps4.

Thanks. Listening to it on YT right now. I don't remember Unreal having this many tracks but I had original and not gold edition. Some excellent tracks on here. I'm hitting up Quake 2 OST next.

On the topic of remasters God of War 3 was just announced coming to the PS4 July 14th for the 10th anniversary of the franchise. Retail price is $40.

I bought a ps3 late in it's life cycle (early last year) and never had a ps2 so I picked up the gow collection for around $20 but only played the first 2. I'd like to play the third on the PS4 whenever I get around to it but can't see on spending more than $20 for it.

Besides the 1080/60fps it looks like the graphics have also been improved. Still, not worth the $40 price tag. Definite purchase when it hits $20 though.

I would love for them to rerelease Batman Arkham Collection on the Xbox One. I missed out on the 360 version, and just picked up Arkham City for the Wii U on ebay. only problem is, they dont have Asylum for Wii U so I cant get the complete quadrillogy for Wii U.Only Arkham City and Arkham Origins. Would be nice to get a Complete box set with all 4 games and a cool collector hard cover art work style book to flip through. I would also like to see all the original Need For Speed games rereleased. Specially the underground series.Those and Most wanted were my favorite games for the longest time in the early 2000's. I mean the older version of most wanted not that crappy game they just released not to long ago.I will keep my fingers cross in hopes they see the light of day.

If you never played God of War 3, it is worth it IMO. The game was pretty good.

I agree, it was fantastic. Strangely on PS3 it ran at something odd like 52fps but I could be remembering the exact number incorrectly.
