I like these 80min/700MB cds! BTW.. how is it possible that I burned a CD in 7 minutes?

I have the HP CD-Writer 9150 (that's what it says on the box, but on the unit and on the computer it says cd-writer 9100 series). Anyway in any case it is an 8x/4x/32x write/rewrite/read respectively.

Burning a CD in 7:57 precisely.. would be more like 8.8x would it not? The actual thing contained around 635MB. I burned it in 7 min and 57 sec! I used CloneCD. With Nero and the HP cdwriter prog it takes the normal, and POSSIBLE, 10 minutes. what is with CloneCD that particular time? weird.. I'm not complaining though, the cd works perfectly too.

my 6x IDE ricoh drive burns 650mb of data in about 10mins aswell.

i dont think you can actually do a diret comparison between time it takes to burn and the speed. it may depend on what is being burnt also. dunno.

I think you can. It depends on how much you're burning, but I think that's about it. It's simple calculations...

At one point in the burnprocess I noticed the time elapsed time and amount done indicated a 16.9x burn speed, which is completely impossible. But when it completed it was still above possible speeds, nearly at 9x. Oh well, I'm not complaining. But this only happened with CLONE CD, not with Nero or with anything else.
