You do realize that not all asylum seekers are pennyless laborers, right? That some of those fleeing from Guatemala and El Salvador actually have money, and that's *why* they come legally, and that's *why* they are targets of the cartel?

Everyone needs to watch this floor speech by Beto O'Rourke on his recent visit to the McAllen border: https://www.c-span.org/video/?c4735485/betos-visit-mcallen

Lawful asylum seekers are being targeted by cartels, kidnapped literally feet from the border and then held for ransom. Those who make it to the border are being turned around at the gate by US border patrol, who say things like "no room here" or "we aren't processing asylum seekers today". Almost as if the Administration wants them to cross illegally so that they can be arrested...

The asylum law requires the seeker to be subject to persecution based on at least one of five grounds: race, religion, nationality, political opinion, or membership in a particular social group. People who "actually have money" and who are being targeted by criminals are not victims of persecution merely on the basis of "actually having money."

https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/proving-the-nexus-reason-asylum-claimants-persecution.html

What Sessions said recently is absolutely true: "Asylum was never meant to alleviate all problems — even all serious problems — that people face every day all over the world." It's supreme dishonesty to claim your example would be someone who would qualify for asylum based on the law.

It's a little disingenuous for you to pretend that you care about their fates after you've made it clear that you wish they'd just die, preferably with government 'help,' under the pretense of 'enforcing the law.'

No, I've made it clear I wish they'd return back to their country of origin unless granted asylum, and there's no legal basis for them to demand any particular living arrangements while that determination is being made, thus why I've suggested a remote Aleutian Island. Hanging out there for a few months should be a piece of cake for someone who legitimately fears persecution and the rest will probably get tired of it quickly and decide to abandon their illegitimate claim.

Do you actually give a fuck about the law or know it and just ignore it for shits and giggles and perhaps a vote down the road? It's sure as hell obvious you know dick about asylum rules.

The Trump/Sessions policy of cruelty is not required by law. It is cruelty for political expediency, hostage taking.

You didn't even know what the asylum law said so what makes you think this claim is any more valid? Maybe you should try looking up actual laws before you opine on them.

Crossing the border without authorization is a misdemeanor for first offense and felony for a second offense after prior deportation. Children are routinely removed from the parents when the later are in custody awaiting prosecution. Are you suggesting a policy that the children should be put in jail with the parents?

What does crossing the border illegally have to do with asylum seekers?

Go for it. Considering that just means everyone crossing will claim asylum to avoid having their kids removed and since almost none of the additional claimants will have an actual basis they'll all get denied with a finding of filing a frivolous case (8 C.F.R. § 1208.20 and Section 208(d)(6) of the Immigration and Nationality Act), still have their kids removed later, and then finally deported and be permanently ineligible for any U.S. immigration benefits including further asylum claims later, legal immigration, or even visiting the U.S.

Your opinion of the merits of the asylum seekers' cases is noted. Upon what do you base your opinion?

If you honestly are truly concerned about asylum seekers, the best possible thing you could do is to economic immigrants to stay home and change the laws to vastly speed up their deportation. That will relieve the pressure on asylum seekers as the volumes in courts will be much lower and temp housing availability for families will better meet the needs of actual asylum seekers. Oh and tell your fellow citizens to stop being assholes and fucking over illegal aliens by hiring them as slave labor to save a buck. If you hire illegals you
are the worst kind of human being.

And as I'm sure you are aware, families are being separated even if it's their first offense. Oops.

Looks like you are trying gloss over that little fact.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-44503514

Mr Sessions said those entering the US irregularly would be criminally prosecuted, a change to a long-standing policy of charging most of those crossing for the first time with a misdemeanour offence.

Time to freshen up your brown shirt.

Don't you support Republicans, of whome mostly represent rural areas and therefore they are against things like e-verify?

Oops, another disingenuous call to arms by you.

Hopefully this photo and many like it get widespread exposure in foreign media and VOA. It would be even better if it were a photo of the child of an employer of illegal aliens processing the knowledge their parent was a criminal and was going to jail for a long time.

So according to obtained CBP documents from June 3-11 91% of the parents being prosecuted and having their children taken away are being prosecuted for misdemeanours. In many cases the children are being taken away BEFORE the decision to prosecute is made. 366 children were separated from their parents.

There is no law that requires children to be separated from their parents. None.

Not a single fucking one. It doesn't exist. There is one case that lead to judicial precedent, which is what Sessions is referring to, but NO LAW. Meaning: this is entirely up to the executive branch whether or not to act in this way. Only Trump and Sessions have chosen to enact this policy, which is undeniably true.

Stop lying, you monstrous little shit.
