I lost my best friend today

My dear friend buster died today before his time.

The thing I'll miss most is not having him greet me when I come home.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I too know how it feels to lose a beloved pet. It hurts for a while, but fortunately the sorrow passes with time.

I really do hope we see our lost pets again someday. That would be a great gift from God or whatever is out there controlling all this.

They give us such joy, but are only around for a small fraction of our lives....

You said he went before his time, did he get sick?

He seemed fine until last Friday and when we noticed he was acting a little lethargic and distant. It got progressively worse over the weekend, he was panting a lot and was having trouble moving around and eating/drinking. Took him to the vet tuesday, they did blood work, x-rays, etc and said he had a UTI and sent him home with antibiotics. He was worse wensday morning so he went back to the vet around lunch. Around 5pm they called and said he had collapsed and was no longer breathing on his own, his eyes were also fixed and non-reactive. We had him put to sleep a short time later. He was only 10.
