in USA (and similar countries like gulf oil states, i.e. low gas prices, love for big cars, big roads and huge expanses of empty space and suburbs) the cars are bigger than anywhere else, the first time I saw a ford raptor I was amazed by how big it was. I understood why they were called trucks. Before I was a bit baffled by the term because all the pick-ups I had seen were just 4x4s with a different back.People are also driving much larger vehicles on average compared to when I started riding in the 80s. I used to notice the odd Bronco there, the odd Suburban there, now it feels like literally everyone and their dog are driving top-heavy three ton behemoths. Maybe it's just different in Texas.
Cars have gotten bigger everywhere anyway.
