Making your own bbq sauce is easy but I still like store brands. I like original Sweet Baby Ray's and local Williamson Bros Spicy Chipotle. I always have both when I eat my BBQ and like to mix the two sauces.
The best part about grilling in the winter is you can just throw a few beers around the grill. When you finish what you're drinking, a little bit of digging is all that stands between you and a fresh, ice-cold replacement.
It is a little strange how a beer straight out of the fridge can taste warm when it's really cold out, though.
Why is there a season for grilling? I would think one could grill almost any time of the year. Do you fall out of love of grilling during certain times?
Mancheck ...
You say local... Are you in Marietta?
ATOT ThreadMade burgers last night and they were tasty with a cold one (Sam Adam's new seasonal). However, I'm in need of a new grill... There's gotta be a good resource or previous thread for that - my forum search came up empty.
Any tips?
True. We keep the grill on the back deck until the first snow is forecast. After that it resides in the carport for winter grilling.I appreciate the yard better in the other three seasons, but yeah, it is a year round event here.
I will be purchasing a smoker this year and I'm stoked about it!Lately, however, I've really enjoyed smoking meats. I smoked a chicken, some corned beef, chicken wings, brats, mac and cheese, a turkey, ribs, etc. They all come out so damn good. Nothing like smoking a nice hunk of pork shoulder all day and then pulling it apart for pork shoulder sammiches the next few days.
I made some bbq chicken this weekend, delicious. Make sure to brine your chicken before grilling, and also I've decided that I am never buying bbq sauce again. Making it yourself is incredibly easy and taste soooo much better, plus you can mix it up however you like it.
Good stuff.
burgers and hotdogs are better pan fried than on the grill.
*faints*
cast iron griddle burger and dogs > gas or charcoal grilled
best burger is made on cast iron pan on a gas stove.
You've never had my cherry smoked swiss/mushroom stuffed burgers.
