I love Hockey!

Hockey is my favorite sport.

Last weekend I got to play it, for the first time in several years. I loved it... I scored 3 goals and got a few assists! Not bad for someone who can't skate well if his life depended on it!

I hope I get to go play some more hockey before the winter's up .. This is the only good thing about winter!!

When I first started skating, after 15 mins I was out of breath, my lungs were aching in pain and my feet were sore. I was disgusted at myself. But I took a 10 minute break, and went back out. I then played for an hour, without stopping, and my lungs felt fine, my feet were used to the skates, and the only thing bothering me was my ears/face being frozen, which was fine.. the hockey just simply kicked ass.

I guess I got the sudden tiring at the beginning because I hadn't gotten much exercise lately and I didn't warm up. I don't know, but oh well. It was so fun and I hope to play again soon!

Last night I saw an amazing 7-6 Overtime game between the Ottawa Senators and LA Kings...

This morning - like every Wednesday morning, I play hockey at the arena with my team from work. This morning was so-so, my defense really fell asleep and the other team got to walk in an take all the time in the world shooting and passing. I tried, but we still lost pretty bad. Ah well. (I'm a goalie)

Only problem with hockey is that it is even more expensive for us goalies than computers!
I neeed new goalie skates - they run between $150-$250 a pair. Ouch... there goes a new GeForce II!

If I had to replace everything it'd run:

Pads (legs) - $800-$1400
Trapper (catching glove) - $300-$450
Blocker (flat glove for holding the stick) - $250-$400
Body Armor (upper body and arms)- $300-$400
Helmet- $200
Goalie Pants- $200
Goalie Skates- $200
Goalie Stick- $50
Misc (jersey, cup, socks...etc) - $100

Total: $2400-$3300 !!!!

You haven't played hockey until you've played roller hockey in the middle of summer in Texas.

Do anyone here play full check or do you guys hold back?

Last week we played I think everybody got hurt one way or another.

I got my skate locked up with someone elses and got spun around a twisted my knee about 90 degress the wrong way. That hurt alot but I kept playing.

Hockey is the perfect sport to play with friends cause you have an excuse to level them for some stupid thing they might have done to irratate you or piss you off.

I finally got one of my friends to play last week. He's a good skater but has never played hockey, so I had to indoctrinate him to the game.

I was driving to the net and just plowed him over. Damn I love Hockey

I love hockey too. As a kid(10,11,12) I played hockey in a league, damn it was fun.

I also played hockey when i was about 26, the most fun of my life. He shooots, I scored !!!

Here (oregon) it's impossible to play in the wintertime unless you fork out the loot for ice time. However, neither I or the guys I play with can afford ice gear, much less ice time. So we play inline, it isn't the same, but it's good. The apartment complex across the street from my house has a sport court hockey and basketball (separated by fences) so during the summer on Wednesday and Sunday nights there are about 12-20 of us who show up to play. Occasionally we get enough Russians there to reinact the 1980 Olympics. You can definitely tell a difference in the types of game each continent plays. The Russians are all freakin incredible skaters, while us stupid amuricans like to power through things


God I love a good forecheck.

Fortunately for me, everybody I play with is either a Flyers or a Wings fan, which are my two favorite teams to talk smack about. My son (that is 2-1/2) has been saying &quot;Red Wings Suck&quot; for the last year, and has a poster of &quot;St. Patrick Roy&quot; on his wall. He's got a decent shot too.
