I dropped 17lbs on the atikins diet in 7 days. Weighed in at 217 the first monday, 200 the next. The weight loss has slowed down greatly since the first week however, the second week I only lost .5-1lb -- I really dont know where the first 17 pounds went in a week, but I can't imagine that it was healthy for me to lose that much weight in such a short time

I would have to assume that a great deal of it was water weight. I drink a good amount of water per day, but also go the bathroom multiple times

385 - 330 - 340.... Since December of last year...

Sounds like alot right?... sounds like I'm a big fat ass I know... but I'm actually not. My ideal weight would be 270lbs, I'm 6'5" and built like a bull...

I'm looking at going back on Atkins... but I just haven't been able to face it again yet. SO I've just been working out like a madman 4 days a week.

I'd like to lose about 6 or 7 pounds and be back at 140lb with very little noticeable body fat. But that requires effort and probably cutting back on pop...which ain't gonna happen.

May 1st, 2004: 245 pounds. Now: 196 pounds. Maybe another 10 to go. Gotta love South Beach. I accomplished this with no regular exercise regimen at all.

Knew it. I had to stop saying "pop" once I moved to Atlanta as no one knew WTF I was talking about.

It's said here in Rochester also. I stopped after college since everyone said soda there.

Deceiving because the yellow areas, though geographically smaller, have higher average population densities.

Went from 290 to 245 in 6 months last year. I never really went to the gym, but I did play racquetball for like 2 hours 4 nights a week when I lost the weight. I started eating lots of salads, low carb sandwiches, and I was also taking some pills I bought on e-bay I'm back up to 265 because I stopped being active. Just started the same routine last week so I'm hoping to drop a pounds by the end of the year. I'm aiming @ 225 as my ideal weight. I'm 5'11"

Also, I gave up soda/pop during the time I lost the weight, I was drinking strictly water and unsweeteded freshly brewed iced tea. I heard somewhere that if you drink unsweeteded iced tea with your meals it cuts the fat in half (dont' know if it's true or not). Congrats to those losing weight, it takes a lot of determination and sacrifices...but it's well worth it, I know I felt healthier after losing the weight.
