Not lame at all. I hate having a ton of crap in my pockets. I've reduced my keychain to two keys, a flash drive and a mini flashlight. I wear my iPhone in a holster. I don't care if people think I look like a dork, my pockets are nearly empty.

You should be able to sell your 3G on ebay or similar for about the same price as the 3GS after subsidy. So it really is just a matter of the contract extension.

was on family plan and my dad and i both got iphones last year so i just used my sister's line to get the full discount. love the new one but it wouldn't be worth more than $199 to upgrade from the 3G

ok .. I broke down and picked up the 3GS. Don't ask me why. I suppose I justified it by telling myself when I bought y 3G that I should have gotten the 16Gb instead of the 8Gb. I unloaded my 3.0 3G to help cover the cost. I have to admit, the 3GS is everything I wanted the 3G to be. The phone is just much snappier .. apps launch quicker, data loads faster. No regrets. I could have waited another 6 months til I was eligible for the 199 price, but I'll put the extra 8gb of storage to use now ...

Love my Iphone 3G that I use on TMobile..someday I will make the switch for 3G on AT&T...but for now, paying 60$ a month for two lines,unlimited sms/mms, with edge data works for me.
