I drive pretty agressively and kill a set tires a year; this means I will have to pay at least $100 more if the wheel/tire size went up from 14/15 to 16/17. anyone agree on that?

my boss just had to replace her 17' tires on her Acura MDX, grand total: $800. yikes!

Your boss drives an SUV. That means a lot of rubber.

Take my comments on Kumhos with a grain of salt. I demand a LOT out of a tire.

The bigger question is why do you kill a set of tires in a year? I do it by putting 40K on them AND driving aggresively. Check your pressure once per month.

Anyone else that new tires feel more rubbery? When I got new tires on my 240sx, it felt like I was riding on more solid, yet more rubbery and bouncy tires. Then the same with my Jeep.

They do take a few hundred miles to really set in so to speak and wear properly.

Your rubbery/bouncy feel is probably pressure related. Your tire pressure is much more important than the actual tire.

But who doesn't love some new shoes! Tire lovin'!

Post best tire you've ever owned and how it felt. For me it was pirelli P-zeros on an M3 back in 1993. Can't remember the size, something like 245/40/17. Treadlife was crap but man did they feel good.

It's not pressure. I've had low pressure like everyone else, and high pressure to try to improve gas mileage, and recommended pressure, and nothing reproduces that feel.

But yeah, there's nothing like stepping up from all seasons to some nice ultra high po summer's

I've always wondered if anyone is stupid enough to drive with slicks on the street. Not that I think any of you do, but have you ever seen it? Maybe the guy was on his way to the track?

I just put Kumho Ecstas on my 740 Turbo Wagon, and they're definitely an improvement over the snow tires
I have to replace the tires on all four of my cars this year, though

Not me--I almost wiped out with a set of new tires. Damn things are too slick and really crimp my style. Slightly used tires--now those are sweet!

dunno, my experience is that they always have terrible grip until you put 5000 miles or so on them. i hate getting new tires, though in the winter it isn't an option.

I like how they steer on a manual steering car. It feels effortless for the first several thousand miles.

I had a leak in a tire for about 2 weeks and was going to get it fixed last Saturday as I got my oil changed, but early in the week it started to get bubbles on the tire so I had to get a new one.

So I ordered it wednesday from tirerack, came thursday and I rotated my tires thursday (flat was in front passenger side, and the front driver side had about 4k miles on it as it had a flat RIGHT before I purchased the car) and put the front ones in the rear, rear ones in the front.

Got the new tire put on Friday during my lunch break and yes, I can tell you, I'm very happy right now because there is no pulling or bumpy ride at all even when going 80+

Where does the RE070 fit in there? It's a rather old tire but still OEM on the STi, the new Civic Type-R and S2000 CR. There's even pictures of the GT-R mule testing with it @ Infineon.

Haha, because there's no grip to give the steering wheel that resistance.
