Their order processing has become a joke.

It seems if you want them to process and ship your order the same day you actually order it you MUST pay them an extra $3.00 fee.

For example, I made a $500.00 purchase on 3/6/07 @ 8AM. Newegg charges my credit card immediately. At 8AM on 3/7 my order is still at Step 3 and has not shipped. 1PM rolls around and the status has been changed to Step 5 which means shipped, there is no tracking # however. The tracking # doesn't appear until 2PM on 3/8! UPS verifies they didn't receive the package until 3/8! Now my "3 Day Guaranteed" shipping service turns into 5 days because they don't deliver on Sat/Sun. I get my items on Monday. Oh and by the way the item had to be shipped From Tenn. - 10 hours drive to Central FL.

Fast forward to 3/13/07; I placed a $200 order at 8AM - this time I click the "Rush my order for $3.00" button. By 3PM the package had shipped from Ontario, CA with a deliver date of this Friday. Ontario is quite a bit further than Tenn.

Conclusion: Newegg isn't processing orders on purpose to swindle you into paying an extra fee for them to actually get their asses in gear.

I have noticed the same thing over the last year or so. Newegg used to process orders immediately. Then about a year ago they started waiting a day, telling you they shipped the item and then waiting another day before actually shipping the item. Lame.

Chances are this is because you are making a large purchase. I have ordered several things from NewEgg, mostly one at a time and have received same day shipping on about half. Also, you need a lot more than two trials to show that what you are saying is in anyway conclusive.

Actually I have about ten trials, I just didn't want to type them all out. I have been a Newegg customer since 2001 and spent many thousands of dollars with them.

Having worked in manufacturing I undestand all about supply logistics and what it takes to get parts someone within a given time frame.

The other part of me, the paying customer part, wants my items shipped the same day they take my money from my CC account.

Newegg has a one year return policy on many of the items you purchased.


Standard Return Policy

Return for refund within: 30 days
Return for replacement within: 1 year
This is our Detailed Standard Return Policy. Unless another return policy is indicated, products sold by Newegg.com are covered by this Standard Return Policy. Merchandise under this Standard Return Policy may be returned a) within 30 days of the original invoice date for a refund, or b) within one year of the original invoice date for a replacement of the same item.

One year: Replace or refund if product is not available

Shipping delays? Newegg ships 99% of orders placed on the same day as ordered. If you had a wife this good you would chase her off out of spite?

I know. But you didn't mention Newegg's policy on 'not receiving Mfg. rebates'? Newegg credits your account with the rebate amount if you don't get it.

No need to be facetious. He has a fairly valid point. But I would like to put this in perspective, and in Newegg's favor. I recently ordered a product from Office Depot. It was a desk, and a special order item. They said it would take a couple of weeks to fill the order, and I ordered it on Feb 3rd, and they estimated the delivery date at Feb 23rd; nearly 3 week lead time. I inquired about getting a refund as I didn't want to have to wait another 2-3 weeks for my product which I paid for upfront. I was told they don't issue refunds on products that have already shipped. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the product still be in their hands if they still have it? Ok, I think, I'll wait until the replacement arrives. I waited another week, and called about my delivery thinking maybe they have rushed the delivery a bit. No such thing, I was then informed that they are issuing a refund (wtf??) and it would take anothe 2 weeks for me to get my refund. This is unacceptable, so I commence to being an irate customer. No effect, so I ask for a supervisor. Supervisor was as unsympathetic as the rep. Needless to say, I finally got in touch with the Customer support vp, not because the supervisor had anything to do with it, but through my own actions. Here it is a month and a half later, and I'm still empty handed and still pissed off, and completely at the mercy of Office Depot's red tape.

Newegg rocks.

I have never had it take that long.

It could be because one of two factors:

1) The time zone I'm in relative to the shipping warehouse (I'm in mountain, they ship from cali) gives me another hour.

2) I've order maybe 20k from them over the years (most all for work)

I don't think #2 is a factor, but you never know.

When I order stuff for myself, I usually do it at night (from home). When I get to work the next day, I have a tracking number by the end of the day.

When I order stuff for work, I will order it ~10:00am my time and have a tracking number by the EOD.

Newegg has always had a policy of up to two business days to ship. Those who really NEED the expedited processing should be willing to pay the fee - I don't think $3.00 is a rip. I doubt you can get guaranteed same day shipping for less from a company of anywhere near the same size. I just placed an order on Sunday, it shipped Monday eve. and I had it yesterday around Noon. The great percentage of the time that is the way it happens for me (almost always less than 5 items). It was a small order: only a HDD and 5 SATA cables. Unfortunately the HDD was DOA so it's going back today...

I'm with you. BTW. I received an empty box from Newegg a few weeks ago. There was supposed to be a camera battery in there. It was empty! I called newegg and they sent me a new battery that day! I think most company's would do a carrier investigation before shipping another battery. I know, your not complainin'. Your just asking about the company's shipping times. But man that box was light b4 I opened it! 8)

I never pay the fee, and my orders often ship the same day, but not always. One thing I have noticed is that their order notification system has been running a little behind. On my last two orders I received shipping information and tracking alerts after UPS delivered the products.

However, I still shop Newegg over all other sources.
