Yup, my last upgrade (ooo..about a month ago ) was a brand new triniton 19incher. i love the thing. The flatness...the size...the quality I'm running at 1600x1200@87Hz and it rocks

Hear! Hear! I totally agree. I have had my AV 195 FD for two weeks now and it's just great. Super Display, no geometry problems. Makes an old fart like me, heart happy. Just my .02c. Radarman

Bought a 195TF for my wifes computer and I have to admit it is not bad at all. I don't know what everyone is complaining about. Good monitor-cheap price. Guess that offends some people. I've always been a Sony guy but this monitor is nice.

Okay, nevermind. My friend and I just went to CompUSA and looked at their Sony E400. He wasn't convinced that the flat screen tubes have this extra &quot;black&quot; around the screen, making it look really in-depth, but the Sony at CompUSA proved that to him.

And yeah, I'll have him re-adjust it. He's now not even sure he wants a new monitor (KDS or Sony G200/E200) because of that tube area that cannot be used.

Lore: The avitron monitors come from the factory way to bright. I just used the nokia monitor tested and tuned my brightness and it helped alot.

It's interesting that there are posts about KDS monitors thrown in the garbage after a year because mine pretty much died today. I quit NFS5 and when I got to the desktop, the geometry settings were all messed up. For some stupid reason, I thought it was a software problem and rebooted. Geometry settings were still messed up, so I reset them again. I started to play some other game, went back to the desktop and geometry messed up again. Next thing I know, it looks like there's been a red filter placed on the screen! I hope KDS doesn't give me hell when I try to RMA the thing. . .

I sent one back for a minor problem and the FedX man picked it up and returned the next morning with the new one.

I've heard alot of storys about the non fd trinitron unit failing. It seems they fixed whatever was wrong is the fd trinitron version as no one is complaning about them failing. Good thing they have such a good warrenty.

I called them this morning and being placed on hold for less than a minute was pretty darn impressive. I told them to send me the replacement in advance, so hopefully it'll come within the next few days. Now I have to worry about how to pack the dead monitor since the original box/foam, etc., are all gone.

All you have to do for a brand new monitor (concerning light leves):

1. Turn your Contrast to the highest setting.
2. Bring your Brightness down to the lowest level possible while keeping the whites bright white.
