I miss Stargate

They tried to make Stargate Universe dark and gritty, and it barely lasted one season.

SGU lasted two seasons. I really like it since Ming-Na Wen was on the show.

ok it was a total cheese show with pretty much zero emotional impact, not even in the same league as like Game of Thrones, but I miss it too!

SG-1 holy sheet what fun 7 years it was for TV! The last 3 years I don't really count as it went downhill pretty fast after season 7.

It's amazing when I think how I almost never got past the first 10 minutes of the very first episode. It was the most horrible acting I've seen by extras probably ever. It's was so laughable how they tried to act scared and pretend to shoot their guns at the Jaffa coming through the gate. I was so close to turning the channel because the acting was so bad. Glad I hung in there though! One of my top 5 shows of all time along with Breaking Bad and TWD.

Thats strange. Looking at the episode guides I don't remember most of the episodes, so I guess the seasons blended together. I remember being super pissed when Jennifer Spence was killed off, a paraplegic using the stones to high jack a body, and gist of the ending.

It didn't fail because it was dark and gritty. It failed because they spend too much time with drama of the stones and going back to Earth instead of the core tenets of finding new life and new civilizations, then shooting at them.

I miss watching new episodes on Fridays.

SciFi* Fridays with SG-1, SGA and BSG were so awesome. Sadly I was right when I figured that this would be the last time 3 good sci fi shows would be on in succession for a really long time.

Its unfortunate but I wonder if doing all of his TV shows kept him motivated\used to a scheduled exercise regimen. When he retired the need for that went away

Good to know those assclowns will be rebooting their own movie and ignoring 17 seasons of TV, plus a couple of movies and piles of fans buying merchandise, going to conventions, and generally sticking with it.

Saw a quote on Gateworld from one of the MGM execs involved in the new movie set up, excited that they could try to create a "universe" with this franchise. Um...what? Time to reinvent the wheel.

Probably need a Constitutional amendment prohibiting reboots or remakes until copyright on the original expires...maybe that will also start to shorten copyright terms.

Regarding RDA, as far I know, he hit mid-middle age (50-ish) during the run of the show and injured his knee (skiing iirc). A lifetime of hockey, skiing, and such already had him with sketchy knees apparently - the recovery from that pretty much doomed him.

Get tubby, get painful to move = hard to exercise and lose weight.

I've never been one for Sci Fi but 12 Monkeys so far has been pretty good. I plan on starting Stargate SG 1 when summer ends. Looking forward to it.
