Bolded is false.

absolutely. San Francisco is one of the most diverse cities in the US. You can have great food in many places in the US, but try getting some decent Asian food in some other cities like Atlanta or Raleigh or Chicago. Good luck with that.

I may be biased as being someone who's grown up in the Bay Area, but even though we're a bubble, a lot of things here are really just that damn good. It's not healthy to stay with it forever, and a change of pace/culture is always good, but as a location you could really settle down, the Bay Area has almost everything to offer to people such that it's good for many people. You might not get the BEST New York Pizza or the BEST a lot of things, but you'll get 95% of a lot of things here, and to me it's more important to have some variety than just a few things.

Is that what they're calling it now?

Oakland or Richmond > Tenderloin anyday. I've gone to the Tenderloin plenty of times. There are a handful of shady clubs and while I do feel a bit scared walking through with 2 cameras and all my clubbing photo gear, it's never really bad in general.

The world could do without you.

remember that whenever someone dislikes a person or group of people, it stems from a fear that they have. Its not a stretch to conclude that the OP is afraid that his internal lust to have a weener up his bunghole scares him enough to fear an entire group of people without even getting near them.

I love it here. Lots of diversity, so much good food and things to do. To me, this city has a lot of flavor and edge. It has everything that I want in a city but could do without the gheys.

When you're drunk and strike out at the bar where only a 200 pound hog is eyeing you, at least you'll have the Castro District for a sure-fire way of getting laid.

what are the best drinking spots or nightclubs in the bay area?
I was driving last night and saw Club Asia near Japantown and saw some cute girls outside

NYC > SF.
Just don't stay at either too long or you'll either end up too hard or too soft.

Eh. I would check out Infusion Lounge in SF as a decent venue with a decent normal crowd. But honestly, knowing you, you're an Asian guy, so you might pick the places my friends go. If you want to stick with the Asian crowd:

www.synergysf.com

there's a couple more, but i think you'd find yourself a handful of 21-22 year-olds there. the trick isn't to pick a venue. it's to pick an event/promoter. you follow them wherever they go and if it's a decent venue, you can go. otherwise, if you hit up a random club, let's say Club NV in SF, you will get a typical ghetto crowd if there's no special event that night. i've done it once and will never do it again. this is why people's clubbing experiences can range anywhere from kickass to "wow wtf sausage fest ghettoness."

Wasn't that the one where the people were taunting the lions though?

The wall to the tiger pen was seven feet shorter than the national minimum for such an animal, hence the lawsuit they won.

Yeah they were gangster scum drinking and taunting the animals. Yet still managed to sue for a bunch of money and I believe win.

LOL. Three Caucasian men drinking asinine amounts of beer are considered gangsters now? Hate to burst your ball of carefully placed cynicism but they were red necks like yourself, all three of them.

the guy who was killed had a BAC of 0.16. Double the legal limit for driving. Granted he was at a zoo and not behind the wheel at the time. Oh and they were high too. So... well. Bad combo with a tiger.

NO, two were Indian guys, at least one with a criminal record, ...and the one killed was Portugese, apparently all drunk, supposedly taunting the tiger.
Hardly your typical rednecks...

Every 'old' city has great food. I lived in Alemeda and that was close enough for me. I've always wondered about the people who like to live in huge cities. Not the folks who were born there but, the ones who seek out the extreme urban environment. My idea of diversity is satisfied just fine with < 30,000 people. Too bad I haven't found the place yet.
