I Need a bluetooth prepaid cell phone. Anyone have one?

California law will require hands free devices next July. I commute and I am looking at a Garmin Nuvi 360 with bluetooth. I don't use lots of minutes and have had Tracfone for years. No bluetooth at Tracfone. Google is not much of a friend on this one. Any ATOTers using a prepaid bluetooth cell? What kind?

Switch to Cingular/ATT/T-Mobile -- someone running GSM. That way, you can get any phone you like (provided it's unlocked), stick your SIM card in it and away you go. I believe Tracfone roams on a variety of CDMA networks (Verizon, Sprint, etc) and you don't have the option to provide your own phone unless it comes from Tracfone.

Unless they've changed it, Verizon (and probably other carriers) do pre-paid cell-phones (though it only works in areas they have digital coverage where they own the towers). You can buy whatever phone you want from them to use for pre-paid.

VZW offers the RAZR V3M on inPulse, or you can get pretty much any phone on EasyPay(think contract service, without the contract, but higher price per month). I don't know if any other carriers offer bluetooth capable phones on their prepaid. Any reason you can't just use a wired headset for a while?

Oh and Tracfone is GSM - I don't know if you can simply buy any unlocked phone to use with it, though. I can't see a reason it wouldn't work, you just wouldn't be able to check your balance or add minutes from your phone.

Target has a Tmobile flip phone (prepaid) for $99.99. It's a Samsung.. don't remember the model number. It definitely works with the Garmin Nuvi 360 as I tried it last week.

Thanks for the input guys. I read on a tracfone site that there is no way to swap the card and make it work. Also, there are no tracfone bluetooth models at this time. I found one at SD that may be compatable with the NUVI 360. Its the Nokia 6103. The Garmin home page says that it will work..
