I need a company that can Host BF1942

Me and about 10 friends want to get a dedicated server for BF1942 so we can all play on the same server. I just don't know of any hosting companies that will run games.
Can anyone help a felloy soilder out?

No, I can't answer that directly, so I apologize for posting. However, I am sure you could get someone to host a game server for you. Just curious though, do any of you not have a secondary machine to do it? Or is it that you don't have broadband anywhere, between you guys?

I have a machine that I could perhaps host it on for you. PM me and I'm sure we can work something out. Hopefully my post was of some help.

This may not be what you're looking for, but why can't you just play on one of the EA servers? You can find one that's empty and start up a game. You may not be able to prevent others from joining, but at least you could all play together. There may be other ways to find the EA servers, but I use this brower:

Well we want something that is up 24x7. And a regular DSL or cable upload is not going to support 24 players, and allow the person running it to be able to do any net surfing.

Plus i'd like to be able to have it to where we can admin the games. We like to play with friendly fire on, but only because it adds to the realism and playability of the game. However we don't condone TKing and would want to ban TKers by IP address.

Also it would be easier so we can load all the custom maps and packs on it.

You guys really play 24x7? and you have 24 players at all times?

My bandwidth is 1m/bit upload, and 10+ m/bit download. I think that would be fine for your purposes, but again, that's your choice. I only use the bandwidth for FTP, which isn't much nowadays. I was thinking that you only had 10 guys because that's what you said, and only played for a few hours a night, which is why I said no problem. However, 24x7 is another issue. Admin rights, etc. I would *assume* can be done remotely. If you need anything done, as far as loading items I can do, if it can't be done remotely.

I was just offering to help out, that's all. Let me know.

1024Kb up won't handle 24 players, I don't think. I've heard it's 56Kb per player.

Ok, so it can "handle" 18 players, based on that. BUT he said 10 players originally, leaving 1/2 the bandwidth open.

LOL and the rest are just freeloaders? See, I haven't heard of any such thing. Perhaps if you wanted to spend some $, you could get a server all your own. Think they call it "co locating" ? Basically, the server is yours, and you can do whatever you please with it. I wonder how much bandwidth that would use in the course of a month? You should test it by running something locally to you guys, and see if you can monitor the server process itself, to see how much bandwidth.

For example, say you get 15gb/month, you'd hate to use 30gb, and get charged up the wazoo. Just my $.02. I'll shoot an email to my web host. They are pretty good. I'll let you know the results.

Always do two things before posting:

There are tons of companies that do this. But be prepared to pay is all I have to say.

Try JOLT they host all sorts of servers, if you still havent got one in a few months then PM ill see if my mate can serve a server for you (about £40 a month) - 10MBit line in USA 24/7 and you will have ADMIN access

Looks like you can rent a server for $249.02 a month for 24 players from Jolt. Seems like an awful lot of money...

Tell me again why one of your friends can't host this box? I mean geez, have someone get TWO lines for cable modems, and team them! (can that be done with cable modems??) Be cheaper than renting this server. That way you have ultimate access to the box.

at the moment he currently has not got the BOX with the 10MBit line in the US he will be getting it SOON to all of my knowledge you CANT join 2 Cable modem lines up (i shame i know) that does sound ALOT of money just for a server, BUT what you could do is make a CLAN and get everyone to chip in the renting of the server so that will reduce the cost of the server how often do you want to play BF1942? if not alot then why not play on LAN (get all the players around someones house and play (2ms pings ) that is only if you can find somewhere that is bigenough i cant at the moment
