Whoa, out of crt business??? That's a bummer seeing how my 19" developed some problems (screen started to became fuzzy and blurry about a year and a half after I bought it, kicking myself in the nuts for beeing cheap and saving $50 instead of getting one with 3 year warranty) and I was thinking of replacing it with 21". I run my pc like 24/7, always someone on it, plus I'm slightly near sighted so excellent screen quality is very important for me since I can see all kind of details and imperfections. I'm not ready to embrace LCDs yet for home use. I wouldn't use anything else for office, but they suck for home use and gaming. Even the new 12ms LCDs still suck. Plus the fact that you have to look straight at them right in the middle or else picture colors get distorted bugs me. And when even looking right at them I think picture still gets distorted around the edges. I got my cousin 17" Samsung LCD from best buy black friday deal for 250 AR (didn't feel like getting her some of the other cheaper ones for like 150-200 ar cus they weren't as good). 12ms response time, 600:1 contrast ratio!!!, supposedly excellent LCD but I wasn't impressed when compared it to my CRT. And I didn't care for size either since my desk is huge and I got plenty of space for a big CRT.
Anyway, guess if they won't be able to fix the washed out blurry colors on my sony for a reasonable price I'll just go and get a refurbished 21" DELL trinitron monitor from Fry's for $250 a pop. Hell, get two of those while I'm at it.
EDIT: Another problem I noticed with that particular LCD is some kind of barely noticable static when displaying dark colors. But I figured it must be analog to digital converter since that samsung lcd doesn't have DVI input.
