for 2048x1536 you need a 21" monitor. I also recommend the Mitsubishi (DP 2070SB)

Lol, "at least". That is a resolution only a few monitors can do

What about a sony trinitron screen? I own 19" one and quality of the tube is superb. I can easily see the difference between it and my other compaq monitor. Even by the way pixels line up. I was under impression that trinitrons are the best.

trinitrons/diamontrons use the same technology. both have those 2 horizontal lines.

Trinitron and Diamondtron may both employ similar technology, but Trinitrons are a lot better IMHO. Better colors and no wash out. I own some of each, 2 Sonys and 2 Iiyamas (best of the Diamondtrons) and while both are good, the Sonys stand out.

Unfortunately, Sony is basically out of the 19 in. and under CRT business. You might look for an IBM P series, they are Sony OEMs (incl. the dual inputs) .

I think the diamondtron is just as good, i also have a 19" Sony G410r and I cant buy any monitors because of it lol, they all suck. I even bought 2 of these and they didnt come close to the quality this g410r does. I am in the market for a monitor so i guess i'll give the diamondtron a try seeing as sony doesnt make crt's anymore even though they are the freaking best... stupid move in my opinion.

Whoa, out of crt business??? That's a bummer seeing how my 19" developed some problems (screen started to became fuzzy and blurry about a year and a half after I bought it, kicking myself in the nuts for beeing cheap and saving $50 instead of getting one with 3 year warranty) and I was thinking of replacing it with 21". I run my pc like 24/7, always someone on it, plus I'm slightly near sighted so excellent screen quality is very important for me since I can see all kind of details and imperfections. I'm not ready to embrace LCDs yet for home use. I wouldn't use anything else for office, but they suck for home use and gaming. Even the new 12ms LCDs still suck. Plus the fact that you have to look straight at them right in the middle or else picture colors get distorted bugs me. And when even looking right at them I think picture still gets distorted around the edges. I got my cousin 17" Samsung LCD from best buy black friday deal for 250 AR (didn't feel like getting her some of the other cheaper ones for like 150-200 ar cus they weren't as good). 12ms response time, 600:1 contrast ratio!!!, supposedly excellent LCD but I wasn't impressed when compared it to my CRT. And I didn't care for size either since my desk is huge and I got plenty of space for a big CRT.

Anyway, guess if they won't be able to fix the washed out blurry colors on my sony for a reasonable price I'll just go and get a refurbished 21" DELL trinitron monitor from Fry's for $250 a pop. Hell, get two of those while I'm at it.

EDIT: Another problem I noticed with that particular LCD is some kind of barely noticable static when displaying dark colors. But I figured it must be analog to digital converter since that samsung lcd doesn't have DVI input.

I have a Diamond Plus 91, and yeah, at first, you are like, what are these lines for, but you get used to them. Only time I really notice them are on white windows, like Word. You don't notice them in games. IMO, you just get used to them and notice them less.

I was looking for the best 19" CRT and I considered the IIyama. It has the best specs of any 19". I decided on the Mitsubishi DP930SB because a LOT of the Iiyama reviews were negative. I mean more than 50%. Do a google search if you want to see it for yourself. Most of the complaints were about performance using the higher resolutions/refresh rates (same problems (and reason) as the Viewsonic P95F+)

So, in short, I would not consider the Iiyama the best 19" CRT. There are tons of Iiyama owners who publically say the same.

Definately go with the dp 930 sb. I just got a refurbished one from http://www.nm-select.com and it's gorgeous. It cost me 268 bucks with shipping and a 3 year warranty. It looks brand new you can't tell it's refurbished, and the packaging was some of the best i've ever seen for a monitor. It's definately worth the money.
