I need a desktop clock utility

what os do you have ?

tclockex does not integrate well with win xp if you choose to
maintain the win xp skin. if you revert back to the win9.x or win2k skin under winxp, then it'll work fine.

now is there such a prog that works with winxp ?

TClock2 integrates perfectly into the systray on Themed XP. Look at this screenshot of my desktop. All you have to do is play with the background color and the position of the clock's' text. In my case I made the clock color match the "Start Button" color but you could make it match the Taskbar color if you wanted. I just wanted to delineate the systray from the taskbar.

that's 'integrated perfectly'? the background isn't the same as your skin.

and to set tclock2 background to your skin, you have to manually find the bitmap file from your skin to select it, which is impossible if you're using .msstyles files and its multiple colors.

Reg. Aclock, it works great for a fairly customizable desktop clock, which is what I needed (vs. one in the task bar), altho it sometimes loses its transparency and needs to be refreshed by move it slightly. It also has alarm settings.

I've used TClockex for years. Freeware and customizeable. It expands what Windows does. Mine shows seconds and short date (today is 6/14/2003). Put your cursor over it and it says the day of the week. You can configure it to display differently.

i'm glad you found what you need.

neither of the tclock progs will work for my needs. i need a taskbar clock that fits smoothly into winxp, that adjusts automatically, and
has some bells and whistles, although thats not essential. tclock can modify the start button, adds a color background to the taskbar
clock, and sticks the date in there too.
