So, I've always just picked up whatever $50 chair Walmart had but I figured since I do most of my free-time at my PC, I might as well get something decent. The obvious answer would be a Herman Miller, but I really don't want to spend $2,000 on a chair. I have a discount to use on a gaming chair at Newegg, but they all look very similar to the one I've been using for 10+ years, except a lot more uncomfortable.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a good office chair? Back support is a must since my lower spine is technically broken and sitting for long periods can get pretty painful with the worn-out chair I've been using. I've looked around and I've found very similar-looking chairs at Staples and Amazon and one is $1,500 while the other is $150. I don't care about name brands, I just want something that will last a long time.
Edit: I should mention that I've looked at the mesh chairs and the only hesitation I have towards those is that I have two cats who love to sleep on my chair. Try as hard as I want to, they eventually scratch it and I get the feeling like a mesh chair won't survive very long unless I can cover it with something while I'm at work.
