Just about any 8-bit PCI SCSI card (or better) should work with a scanner. Already having the drivers for the card imbedded in WinXP, etc. is a GOOD THING - drivers for some obscure cards may not be and may not even be available for 2k/XP... And a cable adapter may be cheaper than buying a whole new cable...
Here are some good SCSI vendors:
hypermicro.com (may offer free ground shipping if you mention
www.storagereview.com - check the SR site for the latest offer)
centrix-intl.com
pc-pitstop.com (offers PayPal as a payment option)
scsi4me.com (ditto)
etech4sale.com
and I can usually find stuff (like drives, host adapters, cables and connector adapters) for low bucks on eBay.
But these are all Stateside resellers and may not be useful to you - except for getting ideas.
Dittos on Peter's query... Please update your ATF profile - saves wading thru useless suggestions (e.g. "Buy this --- from Newegg..." when they don't even ship outside the States.).
