I need a single player game

sick of playing tf2 online with a bunch of kids on mics. I was thinking of playing deus ex again but the graphics are kinda old. Anything else more up to date graphics?

Well, there's of course Crysis, then there's pretty much all single-player games you can get made using the latest game engines, Unreal Engine 3 for instance, have you played Mass Effect? Maybe you'd like Prototype... there's so many games to list, as zerocool84 said, we need specific genres to narrow down our suggestions to specific titles. If you're unsure about the genre yourself I would suggest to browse a web-site like IGN or GameSpot and look for recent reviews (not that their reviews are relevant at all, I'm just referring to reviews which would give you a good idea of what has been released lately) or just search for games in general on their own search engine.

Hahaha, I'm with the OP on the mind-crumbling irritation that playing TF2 with school kids creates. Nothing like hearing constant mouth breathing through your speakers until a round starts, when you hear a few reedy voices spout "GO GO GO!!!".

It will never happen, but there should be an age requirement for playing games online with adults.

Yup, get on our games for AT Fight night or get on some adult servers.

As far as games go. I was pretty much blown away by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - playing it a 3rd time through. And both Stalkers, maybe World at War...Fallout 3?

My schedule is weird, I used to play on whatever server had reasonable latency. I don't have a great connection, anyway.

What exactly is an 'adult server' by your definition? I thought that concept was a fantasy. I mean, do the admins card you when you login?

i play at cock and balls server lol. its fun because it has this rtd mod. very fun.

in the middle of fallout 3 right now. pretty good game

Same for me, almost no kids per se, but I do hear many so called "adults" complain all the time, often for bad reasons, it makes one wonder if age requirements had they existed would be viable for on-line games. The game itself is good however, and when people know to have fun without being asses then TF2 suddenly turns into a fun game. I guess the same principle applies to any on-line games out there.

Vampire, The Masquerade: Bloodlines uses the HL2 engine. It is a FPS / TPS (you can play either mode) RPG hybrid. I consider it on par with Deus Ex. You should try it out, but do grab the latest community patch as it was rather buggy in the official release.

If you are into gore and ultra-violence and something to make you sit back and say 'man... brutal' every few minutes as you do your next ridiculous killing maneuver (sp?) then check out Prototype.

Here's another vote for V:TM Bloodlines, I've wasted too much of my life with that game.
