^^I also need a wired usb keyboard good for large hands also. I was going to get the G7 but i'm afraid it will give my hand cramps... Preferably, they are both logitech but i'm open to anything. Thanks in advance for any help.

The MX1000 looks good but is not nearly the capability of a G7 as far as i can see... A mouse with an 800 dpi laser just seems inferior in comparison to my 2000 dpi laser mouse. I mean i know that sensitivity of the laser is not the only factor but it always seems like it is...

How BIG is your hand? Go to a local store, try the Revolution, MX1000, & G7. Personally, I love my G7 but my hand is not that BIG.

It looks like theres widespread support in this thread for the MX1000. I have tried out the G5 in a store and it seemed like it would probably be big enough but i've heard from others that it will give cramps to people with larger hands. My hands are large as i'm 6'4" roughly and 260. My right thumb cramped up for the first week with my X60s but after that it was smooth sailing. It looks like i'll go with either MX1000 or G7 but given the fact that they are similar cost, i don't see any reason to go with an MX1000 except that it might have better battery life?

If you're going to seriously consider the MX1000, then you might want to take a look at the MX610 as well. It's also a lower-resolution laser mouse like the MX1000, but I find it to be quite comfortable, and I have fairly large hands myself.

MX 1000 4tw, the MX rev is much smaller in my opionion. I have both, and have large hands myself. I actually only use the MX Rev w/ the notebook to LAN. I don't use it much on my desktop, because I like the large feel of the MX1000.

I've used the MX1000 for about a year now, and I switched to the G7 about a month ago. Here's my thoughts:

MX1000
Pros:
Long battery life - probably 20-30+ hours
More buttons than you'll ever need
Decent software / button programmability

Cons:
800 dpi - getting dated
Long charge time - mouse has to be docked while charging
Button placement - unless you have an EXTREMELY large hand, you'll probably find some of the buttons impractical
The pads started wearing out toward the end for me.
It only comes in a blueish-green / black color.

G7
Pros:
2000 dpi - huge performance increase
Awesome gaming "feet" - they glide much smoother than any other mouse I've used
Comfortable design - I have a medium / large hand, and it never cramps
Swappable batters - no "Oh crap, my mouse is dead, now what?"
Decent software / excellent button programmability
Comes in silver / teal and black / black.

Cons:
Expensive
Very short battery life - I'd estimate about 10 hours or so
Fewer buttons than the MX1000
The dpi-selection feature was a huge marketing hitch. I have yet to find a use for it.

Overall, both are good mice. If I had to buy one again today, I'd probably get the G7. 2000 dpi has made a noticeable increase in my FPS performance, and even though the batteries die fast, there are two of them. One is charged long before the other dies. With the MX1000, I'd sometimes forget to put it on the charger and end up having to use my notebook mouse to get around.

I think i'll get the G despite its battery life issues. It has 2 batteries which is always better than 1 and its 2000 dpi with a 30 foot range. Pretty much a no-brainer now that i think about it. My hand can adjust to the G7 well enough. Thanks for all the help guys!

the new carbon fiber looking g7 is pretty sweet: http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/produ...etails/US/EN,CRID=2135,CONTENTID=10716

i've used a number of gaming mice over the past few years (worked retail for a bit in school, would buy and return stuff just to try it out), and the g7 is by FAR my favorite mouse. i always was extremely worried about lag with a wireless mouse (compared to my older wired mx500/510/518's), but this is not the case with the 2.4 ghz connection. as others have mentioned the battery life isnt stupendous and you'll have to take 1.5 seconds everyday and switch out the battery pack. to some thats extremely annoying... i frankly dont care and think the mouses' pros more than make up for it.

G7's definitely not bad. I think that whether a mouse is comfortable doesn't depend on your hand size as much as how you hold the mouse.

As some users have pointed out, the G7 is more of a 'palm' user's mouse, for people who cradle the whole mouse in their palm. That is, as opposed to a fingertip user's mouse, where the mouse is directed using the front, by the fingertips.

I have rather average sized hands, and the G7's a bit big for me to be very comfortable.

I agree with people in saying that the G7's probably the best choice right now, though. As far as capabilities go, it's virtually flawless. Feels exactly like the best of the wired mice. lol, I don't get that new carbon fiber version, though. Is it supposed to imply that it's fast? It'd be pretty sweet to have a mouse in real carbon fiber.

Who moves a mouse around with their palm? The G series all have terrible ergonomics.

My hands are 9.5" from wrist to top of middle finger.... I haven't had a problem with any mice in the past.
