I need boxes

I need to get a lot of boxes on the cheap. Any idea where I can get them locally?

I live in Auburn, WA if that helps any.

USPS for free. As many in quantities of 10 (or 25 IIRC) online, delivered free to your door. Though technically you need to uses those boxes only for shipping (you could theoretically use them after, anyway).

Otherwise, grocery stores/supermarkets. They usually have an excess.

Grocery stores are a great place for free boxes. Make sure to hit up the produce and dairy sections, since they have most sturdy boxes in the place.

USPS boxes are a little small for moving, but I guess that you could use them for packing silverware and whatnot.

Grocery stores are probably a good spot. They might not have any during the middle of the day, but if you ask the customer service desk, they will usually hold some for you to pick up the next morning.

I've been getting my boxes from the place I work in preparation for my move. Lots of supplies coming in daily, so a good assortment of boxes to choose from.

Liquor stores for smaller ones, appliance stores for the big ones. Call ahead, let your fingers do the walking.

Where I live in the East, supermarkets swiftly break their boxes down, but you can sometimes call and have them save some for you.

Also, USPS boxes are great for pranks. Nothing like getting 25 boxes that weigh over 30LBs each.

Many moving companies will have surplus boxes thta they will give you. Might cost you a cold 6 pack or so. Call them up and ask.

Behind walmart, stationary stores, industry/ corporation complexes - basically any place you think that might get their shipment of stuff in boxes. You'll find plenty of boxes to bountiful supply. Pretty much all you need to send out crudloads of stuff from ebay.

You have to go at the right time, at night like some others said.

Burger king. They'll have tons of boxes. Liquor stores also. But those will generally all be the same size.

If you want brand new standard size moving boxes, go to Home Depot.

Liquor store boxes are great for heavy or fragile things. The boxes are pretty strong. Call around, one of the big beverage centers near me gets almost all of their shipments on one day of the week, if you're there that day you can get a crapload of boxes.

Costco, Sams Club, BJ's all have stacks of boxes for the taking.

Even if you're not a member I'm sure you could just say you'd like to check the store out as you'd like to decide if you'll become one and then on the way out load up on boxes.

I always wondered what would happen if you told the guy at the door that you were just looking when he asked for your membership card. Do they let you in? Do they try to kick you out?

They'll let you in.

I've done it for ones I'm not a member to.

Most of them will even give you a few days worth of trial membership.

If you show the card you don't have to explain anything, you're just let in.

Otherwise there has to be a reason that they're OK with, like checking out the "club" to see if you want to sign up for membership.

It's not like you can actually even buy anything without a membership card anyway as they scan the card in order to ring your items up.

just picked up a crap ton of boxes, the really sad part is, all my stuff fit in to 4 I got them from a local hot tub MFG, they had hot tub sized boxes I've now constructed a cardboard fort.
