Ok I purchaed a brand new dining set, after building all the chairs I noticed that 2 of 6 chairs wobbles pretty bad.

The dining set is pretty nice and brand new and I don't want to put layered cardboard under the legs and taping it with duct tape like what I usually do to even out old wobbly chairs.

So what would be the best/easiest way to fix this issue while being dicreet with the fix?

ps: I'm not a handyman

Yeah I'm sure I put them right, will double check though. The legs could only go one way else the peice of wood that links the leg chair together won't fit.

The gap is only less than an inch for sure but it's pretty bad, I can usually tolerate slight rocking but not this one. Will measure the actual gap when I get home.

Hm yea will check out felt pads at home depot later on. I will probably need to use a whole package, since one felt seems a little too thin for this job.

Might want to look at the nail in kind if the felt is too thin.

I like the hot glue idea but not for yours.

Can you get a replacement from wherever you bought the set from? I wouldn't alter the chairs until you talk to the seller.

Basically the rear legs are attached to the back support so there's only two legs you need to worry about so its hard to go wrong. I will double check when I get home if the legs is shorter or what not.

I bought the set at cheap no-name furniture store so I kinda expected this type of quality really. Basically this store tries to clone the more expensive furniture you will find at the Brick and stuff.

Everything is fine just the two chairs, I will swing by to the store and ask for replacement though. But hopefully I dont have to dismantle it.

If you sit on them, do they still wobble?

Some of my chairs are also like this, but if I sit on them they are all good.

I paid more than 160$ each for them. Maybe you can try to play with the screws. I will have to do that too.

I bought some assemble yourself chairs for a business I used to own. Same as you, after assembling them, they rocked. Pick them up and bang them legs down doing your best to have all legs hit at once on a hard surface a number of times and they will settle into place. It sounds more brutal than it actually is.

The chairs I was dealing with had tapered components attached to the mating components of the chair that dovetailed into each other as they slid together. It was impossible through other means to get them fully seated.

So what you're saying is that you lost your temper but it worked out.

You said it....if you've only got 2 of the 6 with the problem, then I would expect it to be manufacturing variance differences...in other words, those 2 weren't built to spec for whatever reason. It could be the legs it could be the parts they attach to. Definitely take them back and see if they make it right. Otherwise, the felt pads are a great way to even table and chair legs for little or no money....they also protect your floor if you have hardwood.
