Hi everyone. I need some advice from you guys on an ebay transaction I had recently.
I have a HP pavilion DV1000 series laptop that failed to power on couple month ago. I found this company on ebay which does laptop mobo repair. According to the ad on ebay, the repair include reparing the mobo, and the work is covered for 90 days. I purchased the service and send the laptop in. I got the laptop back couple weeks ago. I plug everything in and it power on, but loads very slowly. I don't remember it loads this slow before, but it eventually works. Then I noticed that the battery is not charing. When I got the laptop back, the battery had about 30% power left. I ran the laptop on battery till it is drained. I then plug in the power but it won't charge, however, the laptop does work with adapter plug in. I contact the ebay seller and the seller claim that since in the original problem discription I only mention laptop not power on, they won't repair this under warranty nor is it cover under the contract.
On the other hand, I believe it is cover under the warranty or the original contract since the problem is on the charing circuit which is part of the mobo. I understand this problem was not mentioned in the problem description section, but the thing is if the laptop won't power on at all. How would I know if anything else works?
What do you guys think?
