Hi everyone. I need some advice from you guys on an ebay transaction I had recently.

I have a HP pavilion DV1000 series laptop that failed to power on couple month ago. I found this company on ebay which does laptop mobo repair. According to the ad on ebay, the repair include reparing the mobo, and the work is covered for 90 days. I purchased the service and send the laptop in. I got the laptop back couple weeks ago. I plug everything in and it power on, but loads very slowly. I don't remember it loads this slow before, but it eventually works. Then I noticed that the battery is not charing. When I got the laptop back, the battery had about 30% power left. I ran the laptop on battery till it is drained. I then plug in the power but it won't charge, however, the laptop does work with adapter plug in. I contact the ebay seller and the seller claim that since in the original problem discription I only mention laptop not power on, they won't repair this under warranty nor is it cover under the contract.

On the other hand, I believe it is cover under the warranty or the original contract since the problem is on the charing circuit which is part of the mobo. I understand this problem was not mentioned in the problem description section, but the thing is if the laptop won't power on at all. How would I know if anything else works?

What do you guys think?

"Advice" is a noun that means "a recommendation." "Advise" is a verb that means "to recommend."

Wait, I'm confused. There was still a warranty on your laptop, and yet you sent it to some fly-by-night ebay company to get it repaired instead? WHY???

Unless they gave you a wrong battery that is not yours and you can prove it (or you can prove that it was 100% power when you turned it in to them), you have no case

WTF? Your laptop still had warranty on it, but you went with somebody on ebay to fix it?

Comprehension for the loss.

The guy's posting isn't clear, but he means he believes his laptop is still under the "original 90 day warranty" he purchased from the ebay repair shop.

I really don't have any advice for you op, except, maybe you should of checked with a local computer repair shop before ebay, or with HP.

Lol, I can't spell. Sorry for the confusion. The laptop is out of warranty with HP, the 90 day warranty is by the ebay seller to warrant their repair.

Unfortunately I did not take a pix of the battery before I send it out. I did with all the other parts, but left out the battery.

I use this ebay seller cause of 300+ 100% ebay feedback on their work.

There is one thing I forgot to mention, when I was trying to figure out why the battery wasn't charging, I came across a laptop forum where someone had similar problem. This lead me to believe that the repair by the ebay seller is not complete.
