A D average in high school? Seriously? Take the car away and lock her in her room until she gets at minimum a C.
I don't know where she goes to school, but in my old high school and most Ive heard of, you literally have to do nothing and probably get suspended a few times
to end up with a D average.
QFT. Getting a D avg in high school is terrible. I literally NEVER studied all my 4 years in high school and had a B+ average
That's because the education system when you were in high school was broken; showing up literally got you an A. These days general education is becoming harder and more demanding, that along with rising social pressures means a lower national average of grades.
OP- Try putting huge emphasis on the importance of academics in regards to her future instead of using threats or attempting to 'beat' good grades into her. Make sure it's a serious, formal discussion and give her another chance. If she fails again ensure that she feels the consequences 100%; if it comes down to this it's important she knows you're not bluffing, you have to stick to punishment, and be consistent about punishing her.
