That's a total fallacy. Each and every inquiry on your report is considered as an inquiry - whoever inquires there is a mark on your report and who made it such as "verizon wireless" or "bob sanchez chevrolet". I know this because recently I got my own credit report from trans union and it showed up all inquiries made last july - I made about 3-4 in a one week period.
Okay let me rephrase that... it doesn't negatively affect your credit score if all of the inquiries are within two weeks. It all counts as the same inquiry or point or whatever.
If you were to have 12 inquiries on your credit history, once every month of the year... your credit score would be lower than 12 inquiries within 2 weeks time period, or 10 inquiries, and 2 others throughout the year... or whatnot.
