I need to be able to wake up in the morning

8AM meetings at work all summer. I woke up without a problem.

8am at school, I woke up no problem for the first 5 - 6 weeks. Now it's going down the drain. I failed to wake up for my 9am today and thus I missed a FLEABAY bid for USC tickets. 2 tickets for $137? Geez. Insane deal considering they were selling for $66 on ticketing website. I knew I should've set auctionsnipe to do the work last night before I crashed. Of course my grades are more important so I would love to be able to wake up on time for my classes. I slept at 12:30. I don't see how hard that is to wake up for 9am class. I fail.

I consistently wake up after my first class. I don't want to. I set my alarm for an hour before my first class yet it fails to wake me on time. I missed a test today because of it.

I tried curing the problem with 2 alarms, but I slept through them both.

I fail harder.

My sister in law has the same problem.

I told her she lacks dicipline and has a lack of responsibility. (She carpools with my wife and their mom to work... and she has the car)

My wife has been warned several times about being late, so I now have to call my SIL to make sure she's awake every morning... and she's still late from time to time. (My MIL and SIL have bosses that are a little more flexible on arrival times than my wife's boss... and at the moment we cannot afford a 2nd car)

Nothing has worked for her... 2 alarms, alarms in different rooms, she even got one of those alarms that roll around, and an alarm designed for the hard of hearing (it's really really loud... trust me), hence the daily morning calls.

Perhaps once your grades suffer it'll "wake you up".

I have the same problem, I have 3 alarm clock on 5 minute intervals placed in different places in my room and I still cannot get up many times. It really is absurdly annoying, imagine setting 3 alarms clocks and then waking up 4 hours late and all the clock are turned off and you have no memory of doing it. It freaked me out at first, but I obviously know now that I am waking up turning them off and going back to sleep and the memory never gets formed because im too tired or something.

I did this all summer with my carpool buddy for an internship I had. Called him every morning about 45 min before he was supposed to pick me up. The least I could do, he wouldn't let me pay for gas.

To the OP, if sleeping at 12:30 every night doesn't work, sleep earlier. When I visit my girlfriend, I stay up late (she's jsut a late sleeper and late riser). For the first 2 days after the weekend, I'm a zombie for the first 30 min of each day. BRAAAAINS!
gotta keep consistent about waking up early every day.

I face the same problem sometimes. The alarm wakes me up, I get out of bed, switch it off or throw it out, then go back to bed.

I need discipline.

Severe punishments for tardiness at my elite high school disciplined me (mind you, I rode bicycle to school). Before that, parents won't stop shaking me, getting my cover off, so I decided to wake the hell up instead of lying there and hoping they would let me sleep.

Its best to consign yourself to the fact that you're not a morning person and you'll never wake up on time for anything.

15 minutes prior to the time you want to wake up, program the alarm on your cell phone, but don't make it your same ring tone, otherwise you won't be picking up calls during the day.. if you know what I mean.

the more your exercise, the better off you are. many make the excuse that they will only get more tired, but the true fundementals of exercise iz to master control of your body, not for it to control your life entirely.

oh yeah, don't take long and hot showers in the morning. eat fruit and drink milk and water. just pretend you're in the military or something.

EXERCISE makes your body tired, it's easier to relax and sleep.
Also, do not read teh intarwebs late at night - light from monitor makes you feel like you don't want to sleep. Read a book before sleep.

If you have a fan in the room, turn it off if the temperature permits. White noise makes you relax.
