Your weight and current bench that's a tall order in 2-3 months. Doable, though. I'd go on creatine now.
Hm, perhaps this is good advice. I usually stay away from supps, but creatine would help on a max attempt and doesn't really have any harmful side effects if you drink enough fluid.
I actually used it once to put on 40 lbs in 40 days (the numbers sound cliche, but that's what they were). My max was probably around 200 lbs or so when I started and went up 40 lbs. I was working out a lot, eating a great deal, and sleeping a lot, they conditions for strength increase were pretty good.
I don't know if "cliche" is the word I'd use...probably something more like "crazy!" Putting on a pound of muscle a week is pretty good, let alone a pound a day. I know you didn't say how much was fat vs. muscle, but either way that's insane.
Oh sorry, I meant 40lbs _on my bench press_--not of actual weight
My weight went up 12 lbs in two weeks on the creatine, and then it basically didn't budge. I have taken creatine a few times since (this was 13-14 years ago) and have never been able to replicate those initial results, though my training and diet have not been the same as they were. Undoubtedly most of that 12 lbs was water, but it did put on strength and I was noticeably larger. I remember every bench workout, which was every 5 days, I was putting on 5 lbs and doing as many reps as the one before. I was quite ecstatic standing on the scale every couple of days and seeing the weight fly up. I could not believe how much my strength was going up, too. Like I said, though, I've not been able to replicate it. I was 18 at the time, too.
