The Lobby scene was great and definitely ranks up there as most memorable.

Too many cases where bullets magically miss them and other crap. That guy at the end stepping out with his gun down instead of up and ready to fire, for instance. It is much more exciting when the heroes actually have to work for victory and not get it handed to them by the script.

edit: spelling, geh

*deep breath*

Okay, we're talking about a movie that involved machines in the future evolving into super intelligent cyber beings who needed to find an endless source of power because the humans detonated nuclear weapons earlier to block out the sun and so they resorted to capturing, breeding, and harvesting humans instead and so to pacify and control them they place them all in a deep comatose state where in their "dreams" they are living in what they believe to be the real world. A few of them escaped and realize that because their cyber-prison is nothing more than a simulated environment or a program they can manipulate the code somewhat that gives them super-human feats of strength and agility.

Oh and it's friggin' action movie.

There's a trilogy?

Ohhh.... yeah you mean those shitty sequels that I blocked from my memory.

This is coming out on BD soon... I need to find a way to just get the first one.

As others have already said:

Matrix 1 = epic win
Matrix 2 & 3 = epic fail

Let's tie him down, tape his eyelids open, pump him full of drugs to keep him from falling asleep, and force him to watch this scene on repeat for a month.

I bet he'll be tired of it then.

I just wish the X360 had LPCM output for the HD drive add on. That totally make the scene worth it...

Though, I might just have to rent the BR to hear it and see this scene.

I think this is the one scene everyone tests their home theater on. I know I did.

That and the Heat shootout scene...also a damn good one.

Ha, I used the same ones plus the opening for Saving Private Ryan as well. But the Lobby definitely got played overtime when I first got my home theater/DVD player many years ago. I remember seeing this in the theater the first time and my jaws dropped - that guard pretty much says it - "Holy sh**!". Most epic awesome a$$kicking scene evar.

Speaking of Heat, they better come out w/ a BR version. It's like the 1st movie I got on DVD. Damn that movie's good.

Fry's has the HD-DVD version of the trilogy for $29.99 everyday. I think the Blu-Ray version is coming out this holiday season, at an MSRP of $99.99

I own both formats, so I'm happy to reap the rewards of HD-DVD's demise.

The trilogy sucked, but the first one was great. That's all you need.

They didn't even need to have the other two movies. Money grubbing bastards FTW
You do realize the other two movies were already written?

Well, it's $90 on Amazon, but I don't know if I'd want to pay the $35 for HD-DVD when very few others could ever borrow it or anything like that.

How would I test my rear speakers without this, and the 5th Element scene where Zorg demonstrates his weapon to some alien mercenaries?

The thing that bothers me with that scene is Neo seems to feel no remorse at killing all those people.

They are just unwitting agents of their own prison. Kind of like real life... time to grab an uzi.

Ok maybe they weren't epic fail - but I feel like they didn't live up to expectations.

I bought the HD-DVD version of the trilogy a year before buying an HD-DVD player for $20 at CC pricing error
