I never made minimum wage

Yes, was a bouncer at a night club...in PROVO, UTAH...basically was paid minimum wage to stand around, pick up on chicks and drink free drinks...and let you friends into the club for free...and pick up on chicks...was worth the token $45-$90 paycheck.

Nope. I made $8 doin my first summer IT job...I make a little bit less now, $6.25 (TN has a 30 span where you can only get paid the starting salary. I'm halfway done) as the System Admin at a outdoor store....

first 2 jobs i got were $10 under the table, then the job im currently at (cingular) i get $8.50 an hour plus commission

My first job paid 8.00/hr. I worked there for several progressive summers, working my way up to 13.25/hr, if I recall correctly. After that, I got an internship paying 18.00/hr. I am now salaried at a real job

Nope, my first job started at $8 (this was Feb of 06...). Minimum wage in Ohio is $5.15. Profit for me!

I don't know if there was a minimum wage law when I was in high school but after school I worked in a drug store for 65 cents an hour.

Wages suck because there is a minimum that people can fall back on when they decide how to pay someone. Why should I pay you more when anywhere else you go is going to pay you the same thing.

Worked at this place for 10 months or so, only got up to $6.00 an hour. Told them I was quitting, last day was yesterday.

They call today and offer me $6.50. Debating wheather I should take it, or possibly try to get even higher.

nothing is worth less than $15 an hour. Heck I wouldn't even volunteer for less.

I did, for about 2 years.

fortunately, it was just a part-time job, but there were some older people there that lived on their own or with their kids and worked multiple minimum wage jobs to get the rent paid.
