there are so many..I use recordnow max, dvd shrink,dvd platnium..all work great

I got one of these from OD last month and it is NOT a good drive. It is a BTC 1008, I think, and I updated the firmware. It will read DVDs ok, and it makes DVDs on +R ok, and it will make -R if you tell it in is a +R disk. Otherwise it will turn out a $1 coaster. Don't ask me why.

However, the DVD I copied from DVDs burned on a Pioneer DVD recorder (home movies) will not play for me on the Pioneer. It will not play on a new Sony DVD player. It will play on another PC DVD Rom drive but there is no audio. It will play on the IO drive. This is using Philips -R 4X discs. If I had to do it over again I would buy a better brand.

What good is this drive if the stuff it makes can't play on other drives???
IO has terrible customer support, too, so beware.

That way there's no chance of them witholding the rebate forms and receipts.

HOT DEAL!!! I just pulled it off without any problems whatsoever. It should work every time because their policy is to match purchase price only, not "after rebate" price.

HMM - did exactly as you did but with a different result - the CC CSR defined purchase price as the after rebate price . The "pricematch' would have been whatever the amount would be that would take the price down to $49.99 - which means they would have adjusted the purchase price to $100 - $50 MIR = $50. With tax, Staples would have the better deal. I was not in the mood to argue - but I'll definitely try again tomorrow. . . .

was going to attempt this, but at my local Circuit City they just had the BTC kind and I was hoping for an optorite. oh well.
