Discussion I personally do not think Texas will be won by the Democrats for the next 25 to 30 years, even without the proposed restictive voting laws.

Speaking of gerrymandering, no need to worry because the Democrats' efforts to import voters from other countries will probably payoff.
You have an issue with naturalization under the law? Or do you just want Norwegians coming over?

I will tell you how many years it will take when I get back to my Silicon Valley office after reopening.
I have a feeling California NIMBYs will turn Texas blue faster than you think by leaving younger folks no other option than to leave.

2004: R+22.69%
2008: R+11.78%
2012: R+15.79%
2016: R+8.98%
2020: R+5.65%

That 2020 result was with Biden spending almost no money and not really campaigning in TX at all. Beto asked him to, but he declined.

Result will depend not on individual counties, but on whether the statewide demographic trends which have eroded the GOP advantage going on 20 years now continue, halt, or reverse. If they continue, TX could be in play for 2024, and will definitely be in play for 2028. At the very least, the dem candidate in 2024 can force the R candidate to play defense there.
People who forecast these things already know Texas is turning purplish, and should be a swing state by 2040. The only surprising thing is that Beto appeared to have significantly moved the timeline closer, as does net inflows of tech workers. On average, perhaps these workers are more conservative than the coastal states they've left; but they're also more progressive than the state they're joining.

Demographics are changing in many places, and the modern GOP will ultimately have a difficult time with reliable "red states" like TX or AZ if they continue to steadfastly cling on brand to the Southern Strategy. Not to suggest the Democratic position is unassailable as the Rust Belt has turned the opposite direction for two cycles.

Research latins with more than just your stereotypes. It's not a matter of simply saying "If you don't vote for me than you ain't black"

I addressed your stereotypes numbnuts, and provided two examples you won't go near because you're wrong and you know it.

Better idea: you pull your head out of your ass, start making posts that aren't embarrassing forfeits of common sense and reason, quit cherrypicking history.

I do like how you still seem to think you and your kind have anything to stand on. Trump humpers like you suddenly giving a damn about what comes out of a president's mouth, haha

As someone who moved from Wilco (Cedar Park) to the east coast - about 1.5hrs from DC - I was shocked at how high housing prices were out here. I'm in a rather small town and I thought my money would go a lot further.
It's completely insane out here.

do yourself a favor and bring up Redfin/Zillow, and look at condos and townhomes in Rockville/Bethesda/Silver Spring...pay special attention to the HOA fees for these. ...and look at the "amenities" that these fees get you.

lol

Idk, the 'divide by race, divide by gender' part gave me a hearty laugh, which I kind of appreciate at this point. The racist Trumpists, so willing to let the holy rollers make females of child bearing age 2nd class citizens, project onto the Dems again. Even if I approve of the humor it provides, it'd be nice for these idiots to learn a new trick. So tired of all the projection. What's below a one trick pony? Semi-amusing jackass?

Ok, the guy is an idiot, and/or troll. But it's slightly close to a point. Corporate mainstream media is very interested in dividing people by race, both on the right and the left. Simply to prevent any inter-racial solidarity through (scary word!) class. Both fox and CNN would rather people have fights over racism and immigration, to keep poor white people and poor black people from realizing they have more in common, and both should be opposed to the rich upper class CEOs (e.g. the CEO of CNN...). Not sure if this qualify as a conspiracy, but MSNBC, CNN etc seem to me way too obsessed with culture war nonsense like Fox, rather than inequality and class/economic issues.

He was trying to quote Biden, not a media outlet, and we were arguing politicians and policy, not corporate media content and agenda. There is no liberal equivalent to Fox, seriously. Fox is renowned for their love of highly partisan bullshit, infamous for running filler content and lying by omission to avoid reporting topical news that's damaging to conservative dogma or feels. They are the television wing of the republican party, their agenda is a political one. CNN and others, while quite corporate, actually address the inequality and class/economic issues often, will put it on the front page and encourage exposure and debate. CNN in particular seems to go out of their way to do stories about inclusion and/or marginalized people. Forget the content for a moment, just compare the employees of CNN to those of Fox. If you can't tell which side is really pushing division instead of unity, I don't know what else to tell you other than your post smacks of BothSides. I find the difference there as profound as that between repugs and dems. One side is FYGM, you will not replace us, Dems are to blame for everything, yada yada, the other side is trying to keep healthcare and pandemic relief front and center, wants people to understand how this new Supreme Court will effect their lives, only too happy to run segments on immigration and climate change news.

Instead they are being partisan.... Dividing by race...dividing by haves and have nots... Dividing by gender.... The list goes on and on...

Instead of uniting as humans they instead opt to be idiots. Surprise surprise.
Why do you focus on that? It makes no sense to me. All of humanity is idiotic. We just recently climbed down from the trees. We evolved from from primates who eat and shit so much we constantly had to move to a new location just to keep from dying from diseased carried by rats and flies. And you, my dear friend, are a fellow member. How do you manage not to notice that fact? Why do you have contempt for others and not be aware that your criticism must automatically apply to yourself.

Do you actually believe with all the data at hand that the current generation of Republican Party supporters are not the best representation we have today of just how idiotic we can be? Who is doing the real dividing here? Why do you care that Democrats point to Republicans as idiots despite the fact they are idiots themselves when the factual evidence of Republican madness is so profoundly apparent and the dangers it poses to a Democratic way of life, rule by the majority of idiots, is so threatened by a minority collection of its biggest idiots.

Perhaps you lack the personal insight and commitment to truth to see what a titanic idiot you are. Who is the biggest idiot, the one who knows he is or the one who does not? Just asking, as one idiot to another.

Left that area over 40 years ago, and never looking back. Too frigging expensive. My perfectly adequate house I grew up in, located about a mile and a half from the Sycamore Metro station in Arlington, was too small and bulldozed to put a micro mansion on it, filling most of the lot. Valued currently on Ziillow at $1,760,000. That property with the house that was on it was bought in 1960 for $26,000. My brothers property probably went up a couple hundred thousand, since they completed the last new Metro Station about a mile from his house out in Ashburn, Va. It's great for 2 incomes that have to be over $100,000 to survive.
