Just go and enjoy your trip. ISIS usually don't attack right after they attacked, right? They usually let things calm down a bit, before doing it again.

I don't know the math, but I'm guessing that his plane has a better chance of crashing to/fro than being hit by an attack.

Given how many people die in auto accidents, he probably has a higher chance of dying driving to the airport than in a terrorist incident.

People give way too much credence to high profile news items like terrorist or shark attacks.

You're more likely to die from a lightning strike than be killed by a terrorist.

More likely to get killed crossing the street or driving to work as well.

Just go, and stop panicking over the "if it bleeds, it leads" media hysterics.

P.S. Homicides by firearm are another overblown media frenzy. Those have trended down for the past two decades and your relative risk of dying from any sort of violent crime is really, really low.

I would go too. The risk in England is negligible IMO. Plus... just trust your own instincts.

Even though I WOULD go, from the sounds of it you should just cancel. You'd be relieved when you do. From the sounds of it you probably don't like traveling anyway.

You need to get comfortable with the idea of going so you can have fun! It will be great. You'd be amazed how different it is even though they are still English speaking. I wouldn't cancel, but just go with your instincts.

People in the US usually put a Canadian flag on their backpacks when going to certain countries so people are nice to them. Just put an ISIS flag so terrorists leave you alone as they'll figure you're on their side.

Yeah... I'm thinking if you're already worried about it then you'll probably be so nervous during your time there that you won't have fun.

Sorry =/

Honestly, the risk in Belgium is likely negligible.

But if the very idea of traveling is making OP sick it's probably time to reconsider.

If you don't go we are all going to pray a meteor hits your domicile and crashes all the way into the basement!

You know I wish more people would think that way. Then it would be less busy this summer.

I have 40 days planned in Europe this summer. 7 in Paris, a 12 day Baltic Cruise, a 14 day Mediterranean cruise and 6 days in London. I wish people would start canceling their cruises so I can score upgrade to a Suite for minimal cost on both cruises.

The only things that have changed for us is, we are using private drivers instead of public transportation and everything is prebooked so standing in line will be kept to a minimum.

Yeah but it's like not traveling to japan because of the ebola outbreak - they are two different locations and one occurrence does not affect the other.
Britain is technically more dangerous than Belgium; but then again, technically you are more likely to slip, fall & die in your house than to get hit in a terrorist attack.
On the 7/7 bus attacks, people were taking buses all day and they were not affacted; it's just the incidence against the volume is so small, it is irrelevant. cyclists die more than terror victims, how about you come here and do a bit of cycling?

Also, i'm writing my 2 week notice letter; i'm done with this job.

I read in the news that a young American lad called Mason Wells, survived the attacks in Belgium at Airport Zaventem. He is heavily wounded but lives.
He was present in the same city with previous terrorist attacks already, for a total of three.

The first attack in Boston Massachusetts (within a mile), marathon bombing , April 15 2013.

The second attack was in Paris France, last year, November 13 2015.

Poor kid.

Sounds like Final Destination.

As for the OP, I would definitely still go. Probably a better time now just after an attack. I had some friends go on their honeymoon to Paris a few weeks after that attacks and they had a great time.

you have a MUCH higher chance dying on your way to the airport in the US then you do in a terrorist attack someplace in Europe

Reminds me of the Japanese guy that survived both nuclear attacks.

There should be an app that tracks him so the rest of us can stay away.
