He was reprimanded, the cop.
Police office said the cop was wrong.

In all honesty, after watching the video, the officer seems a bit hesitant to interact, and appears to just want to quickly leave (although obviously that's my own subjective interpretation of the situation). So perhaps he was needed elsewhere, and/or he was worried he might be reprimanded for his driving...?
Officer is alone. In the middle of nowhere, which means backup will be a long time coming. Subject has just followed him for miles at high speeds and has blown through a stop sign in the process. Subject is acting erratically and shaking as though he's tweaking.
I'm not at all surprised that the officer wanted out of that situation. Those are precisely the sorts of things that tend to lead to injured or killed police officers.

Wait, why wasn't the douchebag arrested for breaking the law himself? What on earth was the pimple face douche thinking? The cop should have given him a beating his parents apparently didn't.

The officer is correct. Holding anyone against their will is kidnapping. Technically he was, however briefly, "kidnapping" the officer when he obstructed the officer's exit.

While I won't disagree with your assessment in our current legal system, I would argue that if a cop is allowed to use a video tape showing his speed matched to that of a person he believed to be speeding, a person ought to be able to use that same evidence (and means of obtaining said evidence) to prove that an officer is in the wrong.

Oh yeah? If I was the cop, I'd take the speeding ticket and issue one for speeding, reckless driving, willful endangerment, running a stop sign, harassing a peace officer and whatever else I can come up with and tow the asshat's car.

Not true. Of course, this depends entirely on your local laws and the nature of the crime being committed.

I was gonna commend you for sounding like a perfect candidate for the police academy, but you forgot to tazer the guy.

Yeah I doubt any states allow a citizen's arrest for speeding.
The officer handled the situation well. I have no idea why the guy put this video on Youtube, because it only makes him look like a douchebag. He wanted a reaction from the cop, and he got nothing.

I'm not an apologist, and as stated I don't like a lot of cops and what they did, but in this case I firmly believe the douche in the video deserves a whooping. If you believe otherwise, perhaps you're just as big as a douche as that guy, and think that he's your hero.
