Isn't it a bad thing if they are pleased. I would think that means you overpaid.

Good for you, my SO and the children are now planning a 2,700 sqf cedar log home that we are going to build from scratch.

That's something I'd love to do. Are you doing most of the work yourself, or contracting it? I'd love to build as much of it as I can, save for pouring the basement and such.

Building 90% of it ourselves, this is going to be a real log home, the kind you beloved patriot the logs, not those cheasy log home kits you throw up in three weeks, cathedral ceilings, wrap around deck, two massive fireplaces, in floor radiant heating with solar panels for electricity along with solar hot water, four car garage <-- woo hoo ! etc.

My step father built his house. It's a pretty sweet log home. He's got a deck almost all the way around it, a hot tub, etc. Pretty good sized too - although I have no idea on the sq ft.

noone pay the asking price anymore, and $20-50k off from the asking price is not unheard of in my area. good luck!

No it was on the market for 109 days so I offered them 20k under plus any damage found from my inspector. I know the inspector since I work in RE and he is going to be very thorough and critical.

Also I didn't say the sellers were pleased. The agent was pleased as they always seem to be.
