I pulled the audio out just because it wasn't worthwhile.

For the total cost of $57 for GoPro clone and $15 for the vest, it's not too bad.

This is why GoPro stock has tanked. They are just a hardware company with not much else to offer.

For $59, it's fine. I'm probably a lot like you, I'm not going to use it often... I just wanted something to play around with. In good light, the video quality is fine.

The couple of times I've used it, it's always been in the worst conditions ( overcast, or my dog bouncing up around like crazy.)

A friend made a great suggestion for the next time I pack the dog up - go to 60fps. The camera will do 720p@60, and that might give me a little smoother motion when she's bounding up and down.

1. It has a built in LCD so you can see what you're aiming at
2. It has WiFi that actually works
3. It came with a lot of different clamps... most of which I have no flipping idea how to use.

Interesting. I tried one of the gopro dog vest clones with a clamp for my iPhone and the mount failed/crumpled forward under the phone's weight every time my dog barely trotted. I wonder if the gopro/clones are lighter and lower enough such that the clamps are actually hold them in place, or if the dog's size and gate matter (mine's a german shepherd).

Kinda makes me want to try again, if only to get timelapses of our backpacking trips.

That's pretty fun. Although I like the "through the ears" view, it seems to me that the back mount is probably not the most stable, given the mechanics of running. Something to strap it to the head directly between the ears might give more stability..... or right on top of the shoulders.

The jumping through the grass was the best part.

really shaky even when he is walking. i honestly thought 4 legs would be more steadier than human 2 legs.

It didn't surprise me at all that it'd be shaky... if you watch a dog walk, you'll see they create a LOT of movements.

Yeah, once you get good stabilized footage, you add back the jerkiness with a plugin. Thank you, great circle of technology. :biggrin:
