Instead of starting my own thread, thought I would share here.
I'm smoke free for 23 days. Granted, it took a hospitalization for me to get here, but the important thing is I haven't smoked since.
For the record, I had an aortic valve replacement in '99 and quit for 5 years. Moved halfway across the country due to work-related circumstances and started again. Wife had smoked the entire duration.
This time she quit with me. She's quit for a week and it's nice to have her support (by example) this time around.
edit: btw I was smoking 1 pack/day and started on 14mg/step 2 and have stuck with them since. It's working, don't plan on changing anything anytime soon. Wife is using nicotine gum.
GL to OP. It is NOT an impossible task. Difficult, but not impossible. All the best.
