Guys, we need to be realistic and look at it from the mods POV...they can only ban people for breaking the rules. So, what rules would be justified that would ban these 3?

1. You can't make a rule banning people for stupidity, or else everyone (including myself) could be banned at one time or another (extreme stupidity maybe?)

2. They haven't been casting personal flames around any more than anyone else...

3. Possibly spamming but I doubt it...

What we need here is something like they have at a few other websites I've been to...an "Ignore This User" button. If you click it, the user's posts don't appear (just the words "this user is not worth listening to"). You can select and deselect it anytime you wish, and the number of people ignoring the user is displayed in their profile (so that newbies can judge how good others think his/her advice is).

Just a thought...

Edit: Jeff brings up a good point as well...OT posts. The mods SHOULD be a bit more dilligent on deleting these from the threads (if they can).

They can't... there are hundreds of posts made every minute. It would be impossible to check every thread for Off Topic posts, or even just visit threads that people complain about because then everyone would complain about everything. The only solution to the problem is to not take things here seriously. It started as a very technical oriented forum with lots of good chatter. Now it's basically a chat room for every 14 year old to flex his e-muscles and make himself feel good by belittling others. Once you understand that and deal with it, you'll enjoy the forums again.

One other thing I've noticed on other boards is a "Report This Thread" button...
And for those who abuse this (i.e. push it often and there's nothing to report), there is a one month ban followed by a permanent one...

veg... please re-consider... the fact that you've provided an email address proves you're a very viable source of info/support... there was a couple of times you corrected me, and tho' bashed-pride or what/not i learned... as with this forum once you notice where a person or thing is coming from it shows their intelligence... stay positive+

The mods can't show favortism here... if the mods show AMD bias, Intel will stop sending review samples, and visa versa. Users are free to be as bias as they want... they're also free to give piss poor advice... they're also free to flat out lie. Lying, giving poor advice, and being biased are not against forum rules.

Not quite. While they cant do anything over favoritism and bias. If a user is deliberately spreading bad advice, and lying then that is against the rules. The forums were created to help people and have discussion, not to give people false advice.

As for the OP:

Believe me a lot of us have gone through this. I posted a thread trying to get me a vacation (more so just to see what would happen) but i was aggravated at some of the things that were happening. Everything will work out fine, just take a break and go do stuff that everyone does. When i get pissed i go out with some friends or practice baseball (17 years old) that is if im not working. Many people are working on this annoyance. All forums have it. AT is probably one of the largest forums on the net, it isn't going to be perfect. There is always going to be a person looking for trouble. Just grow thick skin and get through it.

Viditor, as is the answer to everything else. These forums are FAR too large for that button. IIRC in FUsetalk 3 they are trying a thread rating system and some other stuff to help with this.

This is in fact what happens now. Just suggesting that intel cpu's are sometimes ok will get you flamed around here, I don't find the trolls to be any worse than the fanboys. I understand that most people feel the need to justify whatever they have purchased, but it reaches new hights on this forum, which effectively limits the conversation to AMD only.

Vegitto, it's just a forum, the easy answer is to respond once to the trolls, then just ignore them. A big mouth is often used to hide a small brain.

i cant believe this, i joined the BE forum yesterday and my first thoughts were good .. but wait a minute .. what can i see at the bottom of this thread .. oooh nooo's ..

It's Zinn2b wasn't he banned from AT, and he mentions his wife which I can only presume being Intelia, looks like they are going to be infiltrating this forum as well, hopefully they dont cause trouble ..

I have been a member here for a while now but I posted under my personnal e-mail now. using my normal forum name . My wife is going to use my old account under her name . mods I hope this is ok if not please PM me.

This is a really great forum . No NAME CALLING or any of the things that goes on at the little kids forums. Smart intelligent people that are consciousness with the ability to stay on topic. My hats off to the mods of his forum.

I disagree...there are many users here that are Intel users/fans and who speak their mind (like keys for example). While there is always a lively debate, it doesn't degenerate into flames (until the trolls hit). That's because they present their arguments intelligently and reasonably. Duvie is a former Intel fan himself...

I was thinking about joining that forum per recommendation of several others here, but I think I'll hold off for now until it can be determined how Zinn2b is going to behave there.

Vegitto, both Intellia and Dothan have been banned (at least, I think Dothan was, but I'm positive Intelia was), so things should calm back down now.
