Yesh. I am proud of me. I ran 1.5 miles (on a track, not a treadmill) in 11:02 today. Timed by dude with a stopwatch, not me. A personal best.

Of course, the 21-and-under-set will say "I run two miles in eight minutes!" And I will say "Let me know how you do 15 years from now.

That is all.

Good job!

I just started running again. (Ex-Smoker here, and 24)...and well, I won't tell you how long it took me to run .8 of a mile

Thanks guys!!! I'll admit; it freakin' killed me. Well, not LITERALLY, but you get the idea.

About six months ago, I lost 29 pounds. I gained back 19 of it. :| But that's b/c now I'm in my own place again and cooking...and watching movies...and cooking....and of course, the Body By Budweiser always rears it's ugly head.

At least I'm in the gym 3-4 days a week. Workin' it!!!

I could not run three miles...not today...I could run/jog, but not haul ass. Six months ago, yeah, I could sprint it pretty much, but not today. The weight comes back FAST when you get older.

Nice time for an old fart. I'm 36 too and I'm a bit faster than you but I have been running for years.

11:02 for 1.5 miles is a time 95% of people our age could never attain. Nice work and keep it up.

Wow that is good, at school the Phys ed teacher all mandated we run a mile in 7 minutes (however after she saw most failed, she gave up). I run about a mile in 10 minutes which is pretty bad.

Heh, in our PE class we had to run it in under 8 minutes. I made it in 7 mins 54 secs..there were a few who were well over 9 minutes.

Thanks very much!!! It gets really difficult to keep up with the young guys and the marathon runners.

I work with a guy who is 47. He does the 1.5 miles in a little over 10 minutes. He hauls serious ass...and barely breaks a sweat doing it!!! :Q He also weighs about 1/2 what I do!!!

Thats really good, most people if you pull them off randomly off the street, cant even do a 10 minute mile.

Sounds good from what I've read so far

I am not a runner, it's not good for your knees, but I am however fast on a bike

That's pretty good, keep it up, you'll get faster. I've seen senior citizens run in long distances race and they're really fast. I'm on the verge of running 3 in under 20...only 200 meters short. Hopefully that'll change today.
